On defense, the stats didn’t look awful against them, but they had issues getting off the field. They also allowed Brock Vandagriff to throw for three touchdowns, but they did pick him off once, and creating a turnover or two will really go a long way.

Southeastern Louisiana faced off against Tulane in the first game of the season and it was an ugly one. The Lions failed to score any points while the defense gave up 52. Eli Sawyer was the starting quarterback and he had some issues. He completed 14 of his 19 passes for 99 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. Antonio Martin did have a strong game on the ground rushing 13 times for 68 yards. Harlan Dixon also rushed four times for 34 yards. 

On defense, they struggled to slow down the run and they struggled to stop the passing game. If they want a chance in this game the defense is going to need to find a way to make some stops. If they don’t, it’s going to be a long game.

This game is going to be lower-scoring. Both offenses had some major issues in the first game and there is no reason to believe it’s going to change here. Especially Southeastern Louisiana is going to struggle to get the offense going, and that will be the difference here. Don’t be shocked if the Lions end up getting shut out here.
