The Florida Atlantic Owls will travel to S.B. Ballard Stadium to take on the Old Dominion Monarchs this Saturday afternoon in College Football action.

The Florida Atlantic Owls had their 2-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 5-4 on the season after being defeated by the Marshall Thundering Herd, 28-13, this past Saturday. Florida Atlantic led by a 13-7 margin early in the 2nd quarter, however, the offense struggled the rest of the way and could not fight back after 21 unanswered points by the Thundering Herd gave Marshall a 28-13 lead late in the 3rd quarter. Florida Atlantic was outgained by Marshall by a 447-441 margin and committed 1 turnover in the loss. Leading the way for the Owls was RB Johnny Ford who had 138 rushing yards on 13 carries.

On the season, Florida Atlantic is averaging 28.6 ppg on 420.0 total yards per game (243.4 passing yds/g; 176.6 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Florida Atlantic has been led by QB N’Kosi Perry has completed 59.3% of his passes for 2034 yards, 16 TD, & 4 INT while also rushing for 152 yards & 4 TD. In the backfield for the Owls has been the trio of Johnny Ford (90 att, 634 yards, 4 TD), Malcolm Davidson (59 att, 268 yards, TD), & James Charles (39 att, 156 yards, 2 TD). The top receiving threats for the Owls have been LaJohntay Wester (42 rec, 515 yards, 4 TD), Brandon Robinson (27 rec, 349 yards, 3 TD), & Je’Quan Burton (17 rec, 340 yards, 2 TD).

Defensively, Florida Atlantic is allowing their opponents to average 29.3 ppg on 363.4 total yards per game (243.9 passing yds/g; 119.6 rushing yds/g).

The Old Dominion Monarchs won their 2nd straight game and improved to 3-6 on the season after defeating the FIU Panthers, 47-24, this past Saturday. Old Dominion was outstanding on the offensive end against the FIU defense and was able to pull away after a 63-yard TD reception by Darius Savedge gave Old Dominion a 30-10 lead with 9:37 left in the 3rd quarter. Old Dominion outgained FIU by a 565-435 margin and forced 2 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Monarchs was RB Blake Watson who had 158 rushing yards & 2 TD on 28 carries.

On the season, Old Dominion is averaging 25.8 ppg on 377.3 total yards per game (195.3 passing yds/g; 182.0 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Old Dominion has been led by the RB duo of Blake Watson (142 att, 709 yards, 4 TD) & Elijah Davis (81 att, 487 yards, 4 TD). QB Hayden Wolff has completed 61.3% of his passes for 899 yards, 4 TD, & 4 INT since replacing D.J. Mack Jr. under center. The top receiving threats of the Monarchs have been Zack Kuntz (53 rec, 550 yards, 4 TD), Ali Jennings III (38 rec, 492 yards, 2 TD), & Isiah Paige (16 rec, 115 yards).

Defensively, Old Dominion is allowing their opponents to average 29.3 ppg on 363.4 total yards per game (243.9 passing yds/g; 119.6 rushing yds/g).

The Owls are 2-5-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. The Monarchs are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games after accumulating more than 4150 total yards in their previous game and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf.

Old Dominion comes into this game with just a 3-6 record, however, the Monarchs have been competitive as of late winning their last two games and gave both Marshall and UTEP all they could handle on the road. Florida Atlantic is just 1-3 on the road this season and although they have great playmaker in N’Kosi Perry, this is still an offense that has been nothing more than average this season. Old Dominion has looked much better on the offensive end since going with Hayden Wolff at QB as he provides the Monarchs with a decent passing threat and as I expect this game to stay close, I think the play here is to take the Monarchs and the points. Good Luck!
