Daria Kasatkina and Leylah Fernandez clash in the final of the 2024 Eastbourne International. The match is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2024. Here’s our Daria Kasatkina vs Leylah Fernandez prediction.

Daria Kasatkina vs Leylah Fernandez Preview

Daria Kasatkina is through to her second straight final at the Eastbourne International. She accounted for third seed and Roland Garros runner-up Jasmine Paolini in three sets in Friday’s semifinal. For the second time this week, she came back from a set down to win, in a match that took 30 games to decide. Kasatkina tallied zero aces to four double faults. She landed 68% of first serves. Kasatkina won 61% of first-serve points and 74% of second-serve points. The Russian converted five of 15 break points.

Leylah Fernandez will contest her first-ever grass-court final at the 2024 Eastbourne International. The Canadian prevented a repeat final after ousting fourth seed Madison Keys in the semifinal. The match took 27 games to decide. Fernandez recorded two aces and six double faults. In the match, she landed 63% of first serves. Fernandez won 70% of first-serve points and 58% of second-serve points. She converted four of 10 break points and saved seven break points on her own serve.

Daria Kasatkina vs Leylah Fernandez Head-To-Head

• Kasatkina leads Fernandez 2-0 in their head-to-head.

• Both matches took place in the 2022 season, on the clay of Rome and the hard court of San Diego.

Daria Kasatkina vs Leylah Fernandez Prediction

This is officially Daria Kasatkina’s favorite grass-court tournament. It’s her sixth trip to Eastbourne, and the Russian has made the quarterfinals or better in four of those visits, including two finals in a row. Can she hoist the trophy at the second time of asking? Kasatkina has fared poorly in Tour-level finals recently, losing her last five without winning a set. It’s more of a psychological barrier at this point, added to her opponents getting hot on the day. Fernandez has grown in confidence during the week and has adapted quite well on grass, and she’ll be tough to beat. Still, I think Kasatkina is the slight favorite going into Saturday’s final because she’s got such a well-rounded style of play that makes her more effective on the surface. She’ll also be determined to end her trophyless drought in style.
