Carlos Alcarazis contending for the ATP Finals crown for the second year in a row. His first participation was in 2023 where he made the semifinal and lost Novak Djokovic in straight sets.

Casper Ruud was a late qualifier at this year’s ATP Finals. He returns after a one-year absence. Ruud is a former runner-up at the season finale (lost to Djokovic in 2022). It would be a major surprise if he manages to reach the championship this week.

Alcaraz, by contrast, lost shockingly to Humbert at the Paris Masters in what was his last official practice tournament for the ATP Finals. Still, this is a match I would expect the World No. 3 to dominate with his aggressive and flashy shotmaking. He’s also had Ruud’s number in this matchup. So, look out for the Spaniard to close this one rather routinely.
