Carlos Alcaraz and Cameron Norrie meet in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8. Here’s our Carlos Alcaraz vs Cameron Norrie prediction. This preview will also include a Carlos Alcaraz vs Cameron Norrie pick.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Cameron Norrie Preview
Carlos Alcaraz played some of his best tennis at this year’s Wimbledon to beat 14th seed Andrey Rublev in four sets. Rublev played a great first set, which he won in a tiebreak after squandering his early break advantage. But Alcaraz leveled the match when he broke the Russian’s serve for the second time in the eighth game of the second set before serving to love. Again, one break was needed and Alcaraz got it in the third set and would serve to love in the 10th game. In the fourth set, Alcaraz broke Rublev once en route to a four-set victory.
Alcaraz hit 41 winners and 36 unforced errors in total. That included 22 aces and just three double faults. Alcaraz landed 67% of first serves in play and won 82% of first serve points (64/78). He won 63% of second serve points (24/38) and saved three of four break points. Alcaraz progresses into yet another Wimbledon quarterfinal. It is over 50 hours since his last defeat here in 2022. He improves his unbeaten run to 22 matches this season. His last defeat was in April at the Barcelona Open.
Cameron Norrie will be tasked to end Alcaraz’s reign at Wimbledon. He is the only British man to make the quarterfinals this year, after the much-fancied favorite Jack Draper was eliminated in the first week. Norrie defeated Chile’s Nicolas Jarry in five sets in four hours and 30 minutes. The World No. 61 looked on his way to a comfortable victory when he led 6-3, 7-6 and had a match point in the third set. But Jarry hit back to win the breaker and force a fourth set. Norrie was on the brink again, but it was Jarry who won two points at 5-5 in the fourth set tiebreak. The fifth set featured one break of serve and it was Norrie who converted that chance in the second game and held on.
Norrie hit 36 winners and 26 unforced errors in the victory. That included eight aces and six double faults. Norrie withstood 46 aces from the Chilean. He landed 68% of first serves in play and won 75% of first serve points (101/134). Norrie won 60% of second serve points (37/62) and saved all eight break points he faced. Norrie has reached one semifinal at Wimbledon in the past.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Cameron Norrie Head-To-Head
Alcaraz and Norrie have met six times. Alcaraz leads 4-2 but lost their last meeting in the 2023 Rio final. This will be their first meeting on grass.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Cameron Norrie Prediction
Alcaraz continues to be the epitome of excellence at Wimbledon. After a tense start to his title defense against Fognini and being stretched to four sets by Struff, he’s clearly gone up a few gears in his majestic win over Rublev. And at this stage, I don’t expect any dips in level, which is obviously bad news for Cam Norrie.
