Defending champion Alycia Parks will face World No. 192 Gabriela Knutson in the first round of the 2025 Angers Challenger 125K tournament. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, December 2. Here’s our Alycia Parks vs Gabriela Knutson prediction. This preview will also include an Alycia Parks vs Gabriela Knutson pick.

Alycia Parks vs Gabriela Knutson Preview

Alycia Parks is ranked 68th in the WTA rankings, although she has been ranked as high as 40th in the rankings. She is the top seed at the 2025 Angers Challenger. Parks is competing in this 125K tournament in France for a third time. She has won this event on two occasions. She was the champion in 2022 in a week where she beat Marketa Vondrousova. Parks did not defend her title in 2023 but was back in Angers last year and defeated the returning Belinda Bencic in the final to hoist her second title.

The American has compiled 19 wins and 30 losses in 2025, hardly a good return by her standards and will look to close out the season on a high. After an eight-match losing streak, Parks finally picked up a win at the WTA 250 in Jiujiang in October and went on to make the quarterfinals there. Her most recent tournament was the Austin 125K, where she was beaten by countrywoman Malaika Rapolu in straight sets.

Gabriela Knutson is a 28-year-old from the Czech Republic. She is ranked 192nd in the WTA rankings. Her best-ever ranking is 155th. Knutson is competing in Angers for a second time. She made her debut two seasons ago, where she lost in the opening round to Alize Cornet.

Knutson has compiled 32 wins and 24 losses in 2025, mostly competing on the ITF, where she bagged a title at her tournament in Prague back in February. That was an event held indoors and she does have a pretty decent record in those conditions. Her last competitive appearance was in the Glasgow ITF, where she was knocked out in the second round.

Alycia Parks vs Gabriela Knutson Head-To-Head

Parks and Knutson have never met at any level before this.

Alycia Parks vs Gabriela Knutson Prediction

I’ve got to back Parks here despite her less-than-encouraging form in the second half of the season. The American has a proven track record of peaking in this tournament. She has won it twice in her career, in her two previous participations. She carries a strong presence and a significant advantage indoors, where her serve can be unbreakable. Give me Parks in straight sets for maximum value.

Nur Said's Pick: Alycia Parks in straight sets
