Top seed Borna Coric will play countryman Dino Prizmic in the round of 16 of the 2024 Rovereto Challenger in Italy. The match is scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Here's our Borna Coric vs Dino Prizmic prediction. This preview will also contain a Borna Coric vs Dino Prizmic pick.
Borna Coric Preview
Borna Coric is the top seed and highest-ranked player at the Rovereto Challenger this week. Even though Coric is a former World No.12, he has endured a disjointed season that saw his ranking tank to No. 99 from a high of No. 31 at the start of the year.
Coric won his opening round match at this tournament, beating home player Samuel Vincent Ruggeri in three sets. The match took 30 games to decide.
The 28-year-old tallied 13 aces and landed 54% of first serves. He won 77% first-serve points (40/52) and 52% second-serve points (23/44). Coric converted four of 16 break points and saved four of six on his own serve.
Coric returned to winning ways after a shock loss to Raphael Collignon in Lyon a week ago.
Dino Prizmic Preview
Dino Prizmic scored a solid 6-3, 6-3 win over Vitaliy Sachko in the first round of the Rovereto Challenger. Prizmic landed 60% of first serves in the match and won 67% of first-serve points (26/39). He won 46% of second-serve points (12/26) and converted half of his 10 break points.
After losing back-to-back matches, Prizmic is back in the winner's column. It's his first win since November 1st. Overall, the 19-year-old has had decent results on indoor hard courts this spring, winning seven matches. By contrast, Coric has won four in that time.

Borna Coric vs Dino Prizmic Prediction
Dino Prizmic is touted as Croatia's next big superstar. He showed flashes of his talent on the biggest stage during a four-set defeat to Novak Djokovic at this year's Australian Open. Sadly for Prizmic, that heroic act looks like an awfully long time ago, and he vanished from the tour during a crucial phase of his season because of a serious hand injury.
The good news for the youngster is that he is putting together quite a run on the Challenger level of late, beating an accomplished name like Stan Wawrinka and breakout players like Luca Nardi and Jacob Fearnley. His countryman, Borna Coric, is not a player you would expect to grind out at this time of the year, but he's been broadly inconsistent and finds himself playing catchup to secure a Top 100 year-end ranking. Coric is not playing to people's expectations and could be in for another shock exit against a rapidly improving Prizmic.
