-The Blues’ recent form and recent player performance

-Recent Betting trends and streaks involving Seattle

-Recent Betting trends and streaks involving St. Louis

-Recent betting trends in games played between Seattle and St. Louis

-A summary that ties it all together produces a favorable betting outcome for Today’s Game between the Kraken and Blues.

Can Kraken Bounce Back?

The Kraken had won two games in a row against the Calgary Flames and Florida Panthers, heading into the last game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. There wasn’t as much success, though, as the offense only managed a goal, and they lost by three. Shane Wright scored the only goal for Seattle in the third period, but the defense gave up three goals late to get knocked off. Ales Stezka was in goal and saved 19 of the 22 shots. Seattle had 37 shots on goal, but only one went in. They ran into a hot goaltender on the wrong night.

Overall, this season has disappointed Seattle; away from home, they have gone 12-16. Most stats this season for the Kraken are in the middle of the pack in the NHL or worse. It wasn’t the case in the last game, but overall, they are averaging only 26.93 shots per game, 26th in the NHL. Yanni Gourde is dealing with a lower-body injury and is out for a while longer. Joey Daccord will get the start for Seattle, and he sits with a 20-14-3 record, and he’s giving up 2.455 goals per game. Each of the last two games started by Daccord has been a win for Seattle.

Can the Blues Win a Second Straight Game?

The season’s story has been all about the inconsistency, but they are coming off a victory in the last game. The Blues faced off against an elite Colorado Avalance offense and gave up only one goal on the way to the victory. All Jordan Binnington needed was the 4 Nations Face-Off to regain his confidence, and he saved 28 of the 29 shots he faced. Dylan Holloway, Colton, Parayko, and Brayden Schenn scored one goal each. On Saturday, the Blues were competitive against the Winnipeg Jets, but they lost 4-3 in overtime.

The Blues have had a losing record no matter where they have played. Their biggest issue has been the offense. They are averaging 2.71 goals, which is 27th in the NHL. Alexandre Texier is dealing with an illness, and it’s unclear if he can play in this one. If Binnington starts again in this game, the Blues will need him to dominate. He has a 16-19-4 record and gives up 2.84 goals per game.

Why the Blues Will Beat the Kraken

  • The Kraken have lost five of their last six road games against Central Division opponents.
  • The Blues have covered the puck line in five of their last six games.
  • The Kraken have failed to cover the puck line in three of their last four road games against Central Division opponents.
  • The Blues have won the third period in each of their last five games as home favorites against Pacific Division opponents when tied after the second period.

Seattle Kraken vs St. Louis Blues Prediction

Do I want to lay this type of number with the Blues? Honestly, I’m not super excited about it, but if Binnington is confirmed in goal, it’s tough to bet against him. He has been dominant since the tournament, and he clearly has his mojo back in goal. The Kraken haven’t been known for their offense this season, and they are only averaging 2.89 goals per game. The Blues offense hasn’t been elite, but they aren’t going to need to be, with the way  Binnington has been standing on his head. It’s only going to take two goals to get the job done. Back the Blues on the money line.
