Los Angeles Rams Betting Preview
The Rams were able to post a pretty electric season in 2025, but it ended in disappointment after a long playoff run. Los Angeles got off to a great start at 11-4 through their first 15 games, and eventually finished 12-5 in their third straight winning season. That was only good enough for second place in the NFC West however, and the Rams had to settle for a Wild Card berth. After beating the Panthers and Bears in their first two postseason matchups, LA fell versus the Seahawks in the conference championship.
Moving on to 2026, Los Angeles made some aggressive moves in the offseason in order to shore up their championship aspirations. The Rams traded star defensive end Jared Verse and multiple draft picks to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for Myles Garrett—reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson join returning veteran Aaron Donald on an extremely formidable defense.
Kansas City Chiefs Betting Preview
Over on the Chiefs’ side, they entered a lean season in 2025 following an extended run of championship-caliber success. Kansas City came into last year as three-time defending AFC champions and were hoping to reach their fourth straight Super Bowl. The Chiefs started out at 5-3 but eventually went 6-11 after a 1-8 stretch in their final nine outings. That would leave KC in third place among the AFC West and out of a playoff slot. It was the first time since 2015 that they failed to win the division.
This will be head coach Andy Reid’s 14th season at the helm, and he’s got some work to do as the longest-tenured head coach in the NFL. The major question mark will be the health of star quarterback (and face of the franchise) Patrick Mahomes, who is coming off a season-ending ACL tear. He’ll have the newly-acquired Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker behind him in the backfield and Travis Kelce back at tight end.

Rams vs Chiefs Prediction
I’ll stick with the Rams, but preseason games are always a question mark. Los Angeles enters this year with the lowest championship betting odds (around +550), and for good reason. The Rams look like an absolute juggernaut on paper. In addition to the retooled and fierce-looking defense, Los Angeles also boasts a stellar offensive unit. The Rams have veteran Matthew Stafford back under center after a career-high 46 touchdowns in 2025. He’ll have an enviable group of skill players including Puka Nacua and Davante Adams to work with.
As for Kansas City, they took some hits on the defensive side of the roster during the offseason, so that unit is something of a question mark. The good news is that there’s some genuine young talent there, including rookie CB Mansoor Delane. The bad news is that the Chiefs have a very tough schedule this season, especially down the stretch. Still, with a healthy Patrick Mahomes under center, anything is possible.
