The Buccaneers started the season with a 5-1 record through six games, but they lost eight of the next ten games. TB only defeated the Saints, Cardinals, and Panthers after October 12th last year. The Bucs had a strong offense to start the season, but they scored 20 points or fewer in six of their last seven games. Tampa Bay scored 22.4 points per game in 2025, while they allowed 24.2 points against per game on defense. 

Last season, Tampa Bay went 2-1 in the preseason, which was first in the NFC South. The Buccaneers defeated the Titans 29-7, defeated the Steelers 17-14, and lost to the Bills 23-19 in their three preseason games. TB is not expected to play many starters in this game, which means we won’t see Baker at quarterback, but we will see plenty of Connor Bazelak and Jalon Daniels. 

New York Jets Betting Preview

The New York Jets were 3-14 last year and they finished last in the AFC East standings, which was 11 games behind the Bills for first. New York started the season with seven straight losses, but did beat the Bengals and Browns in back to back games. The Jets finished the season by losing seven of their last eight games, but did pickup a win against the Falcons in week 13. New York scored 20 points or fewer in seven of their last eight games. The Jets scored 17.6 points per game in 2025, while they allowed 29.6 points against per game on defense. 

Last year, New York went 1-2 in the preseason, which was tied for third in the AFC East with the Bills. The Jets defeated the Packers 30-10, lost to the Giants 31-12, and lost to the Eagles 19-17 in their three preseason games. New York will play their starters for at least a possession or two in this game, which means we will see Geno Smith under center. Once Smith leaves the game, we will see Cade Klubnik and Brady Cook take over at quarterback. 

Buccaneers vs Jets Prediction

New York comes into this matchup as a big favorite for a preseason game and they will have a big advantage for the first series or two with their starters in. Tampa Bay won’t have Baker Mayfield at quarterback and their second string is hurt, so I don’t love their options under center.
