In this article we will formulate a Falcons vs Cowboys prediction for this NFL game on Friday, August 22nd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this week three matchup in the preseason.

Atlanta Falcons Betting Preview

The Atlanta Falcons are 0-2 in the preseason after they lost to Tennessee by a score of 23-20 in their last game. Atlanta didn’t score in the first quarter, but they did get a field goal in the second and trailed 13-3 at half. The Falcons managed to score 17 points in the third quarter to tie the game, but couldn’t find any points in the fourth for the loss. Atlanta was out gained by a total of 313-289, went 5-15 on third down conversions, and won the turnover battle by a total of 2-1. Easton Stick went 19-32 for 173 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while Emory Jones went 2-5 for 16 yards in the game. Nathan Carter rushed for 63 yards and one score, while Chris Blair caught three passes for 78 yards and one touchdown. The Atlanta defense was led by Lamar Jackson, who had eight total tackles, while Kubitz picked up a sack.

Atlanta started the preseason with a 17-10 loss against Detroit, but that game was shortened due to injury with Atlanta starting to drive the ball. In this game against the Cowboys, Atlanta will not play Cousins or Penix, so we will see Easton Stick for the majority of the game, while newly signed Ben DiNucci may get some reps.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview

The Dallas Cowboys are 0-2 so far in the preseason after they lost to Baltimore by a score of 31-13 last week. Dallas did score a touchdown late in the first quarter to lead 7-5, but they failed to score in the second and trailed 18-7 at halftime. The Cowboys cut the deficit to 18-10 in the third quarter and 21-13 in the fourth, but couldn’t get any closer in the loss. Dallas was out gained by a total of 399-176, went 2-11 on third down conversions, and tied the turnover battle at two. Joe Milton went 9-18 for 122 yards and one interception, while Will Grier went 1-5 for 33 yards in the game. Miles Sanders rushed for 15 yards on seven carries, while Jonathan Mingo caught one pass for 49 yards in the loss. The Dallas defense was led by Andrew Booth, who recorded eight tackles, while Clark had two tackles for loss.

Dallas started the 2025 preseason with a 31-21 loss against the Rams, so they have allowed 62 points in two games. The Cowboys will start Joe Milton once again at quarterback in this game, but he has really struggled in his first two games. Once Milton is done, we will see Will Grier finish the game.

Falcons vs Cowboys Prediction

Both of these teams come into this matchup searching for their first win of the preseason, as they try to take some momentum into Week 1. Dallas has had plenty of issues on defense in their first two games, but they need to get more production out of Milton at the quarterback spot. Atlanta has played decently well in their first two games and Stick has been a solid option under center. Neither team is expected to play many starters in this game, but I do think Dallas has a slightly better quarterback room, as DiNucci was just signed this week for Atlanta. Take the Cowboys at home.

David Racey's Pick: Cowboys ML
