Carolina Panthers Betting Preview
The Panthers were a surprise playoff team last year that won the division and nearly upset the Rams in the first round. Carolina now enters year 3 under coach Dave Canales with expectations for the first time in a while.
The Panthers are led by their defense with a secondary that has Pro Bowl talent in Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson, while Chau Smith-Wade and Corey Thornton add depth. The defensive front added Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloyd, and Derrick Brown is coming off a strong season after missing almost all of 2024.
The questions for the Panthers are on offense as the verdict is still out on quarterback Bryce Young, and there’s no proven production at wide receiver outside of Tetairoa McMillan. The offensive line remains a massive question mark, and the running back room isn’t stabilized. The Panthers showed they’re capable of competing, but there is a level of doubt mainly due to the lack of consistent offense.
Arizona Cardinals Betting Preview
The Cardinals have made the playoffs just once in the last decade and now begin the Mike LaFleur era. Winning four or less gmes in three of the last four seasons, the only way to go is up for the Cardinals.
Offensively, there’s a lot of talent on this Cardinals roster and reason for optimism. Trey McBride is one of the best tight ends in the sport, Marvin Harrison is still a receiver with massive upside, and running back Jeremiyah Love was the third overall pick for a reason. This offense can keep defensive coordinators up at night, but Jacoby Brissett at quarterback dampens the parade. While a veteran, Brissett hasn’t been able to find a consistent home for a reason.
Defensively, the Cardinals were awful last season, and I doubt things will improve enough in one year to make this group competitive. The health of Josh Sweat and Walter Nolen III would certainly help. Budda Baker remains one of the better safeties in the league, and Will Johnson is a promising young corner. Still, this feels like a rebuilding year in Arizona.

Those who have followed me over the years know my handicapping in preseason is all about the quarterback position. The rest of the positions are toss-ups, and you have no idea who is going to play nd for how long. The one constant thing is decent quarterback play and the guys who can put points on the board.
For this spot, I’ll lean toward the Cardinals. The Panthers have offensive issues with their starters as is; I don’t need to see Kenny Pickett under center. Gardner Minshew is capable of being a spot starter and should have success against second-string defenders.
I’m not thrilled with Carson Beck, but he’s a gamer who is competing for a job. Throw it in a pot, and I like the Cardinals QB situation more. I’ll grab the free points with the Cardinals in the NFL HOF game.
