Buffalo Bills Betting Preview

The Buffalo Bills are 0-1 this preseason after they lost to the Giants by a score of 34-25 last week. Buffalo trailed 3-0 after the first quarter and their defense struggled in the second, as they trailed 16-10 at halftime. The Bills did take a 17-16 lead in the third and a 25-24 lead in the fourth, but they allowed the last 10 points for the loss. Buffalo was out gained by a total of 396-389, went 1-9 on third down conversions, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 1-0. Mitchell Trubisky went 9-13 for 138 yards and one touchdown, Mike White went 8-13 for 112 yards and two touchdowns, and Shane Buechele went 10-12 for 91 yards in the game. Ty Johnson rushed for 26 yards, while Tyrell Shavers caught two passes for 70 yards. The Buffalo defense was led by Keonta Jenkins, who had six total tackles, while Andreessen and Ciarlo both had one tackle for loss. 

Buffalo went 1-2 during the 2024 preseason, as they lost their first game against Chicago by a score of 33-6, won their second game against Pittsburgh by a score of 9-3, and lost their last game against Carolina by a score of 31-26. Buffalo is expected to play some starters in this game, but Josh Allen will not be one of them. The Bills will play Trubisky, White, and Buechele at quarterback in this contest. 

Chicago Bears Betting Preview

The Chicago Bears are 0-0-1 this preseason after they tied Miami by a score of 24-24 last week. Chicago didn’t score any points in the first quarter, but they scored 10 in the second quarter and trailed 14-10 at the half. The Bears took a 17-14 lead in the third quarter and a 24-21 lead in the fourth, but couldn’t hold the lead and ended with the tie. Chicago out gained Miami by a total of 295-272, went 6-14 on third down, and won the turnover battle by a total of 2-1. Tyson Bagent went 13-19 for 103 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, Case Keenum went 8-10 for 80 yards and two touchdowns, while Austin Reed went 5-10 for 41 yards in the game. Kyle Monangai rushed for 30 yards on six carries, while Jahdae Walker caught three passes for 41 yards and one score. The Chicago defense was led by Hyppolite, Booker, and Sewell, who all had six tackles, while Booker recorded three sacks in the tie. 

Chicago went 4-0 in the 2024 preseason with wins over Houston, Buffalo, Cincinnati, and Kansas City by scores of 21-17, 33-6, 27-3, and 34-21. The Bears will start Caleb Williams at quarterback in this game, with Bagent and Keenum to follow. Keenum is a little banged up, so if he is unable to play, Reed will get more playing time.

Bills vs Bears Prediction 

Both of these teams were involved in higher scoring games last week to start the preseason, so they will look for better defensive play here. Chicago is going to give their starters some reps, so it will be interesting to see how they look in the new offense. Buffalo will not be playing Allen, but Trubisky has plenty of experience. This should be another entertaining preseason game, but I think the Bears have the slightly better quarterback room with Williams suiting up for a few possessions. Take Chicago at home.
