What a Dominant Game for The Rams
The Rams, their staff, and their family have gone through a lot the last couple of weeks with the fires, but that didn’t hurt their game on the field. The Rams faced off against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Wild Card game and they were able to secure the 27-9 victory. At halftime, they were up 24-3 and that was enough for the easy victory. Matthew Stafford had a huge game completing 19 of his 27 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns. The defensive line was also impressive, and they put pressure on Sam Darnold all game long.
The Rams come into this game with an 11-7 record and they have gone 10-8 against the spread so far this season. Away from home this season they are 5-3 straight up. The Rams' offense is averaging 21.6 points per game while their defense is giving up 22.6 points per game. The offense is ranked 20th in the league while the defense is ranked 17th. Tyler Higbee left the game against the Minnesota Vikings with a chest injury and he’s now questionable for this game. In this game, the Rams' defense is going to need to step up and put the pressure on Jalen Hurts here.
Why the Rams Will Beat the Eagles
- The Rams have won each of their last five road games.
- The Eagles have lost three of their last four games as home favorites against NFC West opponents.
- The Rams have covered the spread in eight of their last nine January games as underdogs against NFC opponents.
- The Eagles have failed to cover the spread in three of their last four games against NFC West opponents.
- The Eagles have lost the first quarter in three of their last four postseason games against NFC West opponents.
Eagles Impressed
The Eagles won the first game of the playoffs against the Green Bay Packers 22-10, but it was even more dominant than that. The Packers' offense couldn’t get anything going all game, and that was enough for the victory. Jalen Hurts completed 13 of his 21 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns. He played well enough, but the Eagles really didn’t need him to do a whole lot more. Saquon Barkley finished with 25 carries for 119 yards. DeVonta Smith caught four passes for 55 yards.
The Eagles come into this game with a 15-3 record overall and they have gone 12-6 against the spread. The Eagles are averaging 272 points per game while their defense is giving up 17.8 points per game. The offense is naked 6th in the league while the defense is ranked 3rd in the NFL. Barkey has run wild all season and during the regular season, he finished with 345 carries for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. Guard Landon Dickerson is dealing with a knee injury and he’s questionable heading into this game.
Los Angeles Rams vs Philadelphia Eagles Prediction
Give me the underdog in this game. The Rams got a ton of pressure on Sam Darnold on Monday night and it’s going to be much of the same here. The Eagles offense is ranked 6th best in the NFL but they aren’t going to have as much success scoring here. Matthew Stafford is playing with a ton of confidence right now and he’s going to have another big game here. I actually believe the Rams will end up picking up a victory here, butt we will take the points to be safe. Back the Rams against the spread here.
