Brock Purdy had a couple of interceptions but he actually played pretty well and completed 27 of his 35 passes for 377 yards and three touchdowns. Ricky Pearsall had his coming-out party catching eight passes for 141 yards and a touchdown. The defense let the Lions offense get whatever they wanted and they are going to need the defense to be a whole lot better in this game. The 49ers on the season are averaging 22.8 points while their defense is giving up 24.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 13th while the defense is ranked 22nd. The 49ers have done a good job of explosive players and they are averaging 6.25 yards per play which is second in the NFL. Sometimes finishing drives has been an issue this season though. 

Cardinals Have Disappointed

The Cardinals have sure disappointed after getting out to a fast start, and now the playoffs are out of the question. The Cardinals faced off against the Rams in the last game and the defense was elite giving up only 13 points, but the offense only managed nine points and that led to the defeat. Kyler Murray completed 33 of his 48 passes for 321 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Murray has been inconsistent this season, and there have to be questions if he’s the future of this team under center. Tight end Trey McBride does look the future of this team and he caught 12 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. 

The Cardinals are averaging 22.1 points while their defense is giving up 22.2 points per game. The offense is ranked 15th in the league while the defense is ranked 14th. They are averaging 5.19 points per game in the first quarter and they are going to need to get out to a faster start here.

This total is too high. Yes the 49ers ran up the score in the last game and their defense was awful, but it’s going to be the Cardinals that are going to dictate the pace here. The Cardinals offense is going to really struggle here, and that will be the difference here. Their defense is going to step up in a major way though.
