The Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears meet in week 12 NFL action from Soldier Field on Sunday afternoon. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears prediction.

Minnesota Vikings Recap

The Minnesota Vikings come into this one looking to build on a 23-13 win over Tennessee to improve to 8-2 on the year. After this game, the Vikings will head home to begin a home stand starting with a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Vikings Win Third Straight

Sam Darnold has thrown for 2,387 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions on 67.9% passing while Aaron Jones has rushed for 692 yards and 2 touchdowns. Justin Jefferson leads the Vikings’ receiving group with 59 grabs for 912 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns while Jordan Addison has 359 receiving yards with 3 TD and three more Vikings have 200+ receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Ivan Pace II has a team-high 59 total tackles including 3 sacks while Andrew Van Ginkel has a team-high 8 sacks. Jonathan Greenard has 7 sacks as does Pat Jones II while Byron Murphy Jr. has 4 interceptions and Camryn Bynum has 3 INTs. As a unit, Minnesota’s defense has combined for 35 sacks and 16 interceptions on the year.

Why the Minnesota Vikings will win

  • The Bears have lost each of their last 11 games against NFC opponents on a winning streak.
  • The Vikings have won eight of their last nine Sunday games.
  • The favorites have covered the spread in each of the Vikings' last six games at Soldier Field.
  • The Bears have failed to cover the spread in eight of their last 10 games as home underdogs against NFC North opponents.

Chicago Bears Recap

The Chicago Bears come into this one looking to rebound after a 20-19 loss to Green Bay last time out. After this game, the Bears will head on the road for a matchup with the Lions.

Bears Drop 4th Straight

Caleb Williams has thrown for 2,016 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions on 61.8% passing while D’Andre Swift has rushed for 635 yards and 5 touchdowns. Rome Odunze leads the Bears with 479 receiving yards while DJ Moore has a team-high 47 grabs for 460 yards and 3 TDs. Cole Kmet has 358 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns while Keenan Allen and the aforementioned Swift each have 200+ receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, T.J. Edwards has a team-high 78 total tackles while Kevin Byard III has 71 total tackles. Gervon Dexter Sr. has a team-high 4 sacks while Jaylon Johnson has a pair of interceptions. As a unit, the Bears’ defense has combined for 25 sacks and 9 interceptions so far this season.

Why the Chicago Bears will win

  • The Bears have won each of their last seven Week 12 home games against NFC opponents.
  • The Vikings have lost three of their last four games as favorites against NFC opponents.
  • The Bears have covered the spread in each of their last six home games against NFC opponents.
  • The Vikings have failed to cover the spread in each of their last four November games as favorites against NFC opponents.

Vikings vs. Bears Prediction

I’m on the Vikings here. I know a road favorite in a division game is not usually the best idea on the surface, but I trust Minnesota a bit more in this spot as the Bears have fallen back into old habits in recent weeks on this current slide. The Vikings are playing well outside of the loss to the Lions, and I don’t see Caleb Williams having a ton of success in this matchup. Give me the Vikings.

Chris’s Pick Minnesota -3.5
