The Chargers come into this game with a 2-2 record but they have lost two straight games. In the last game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the offense scored only 10 points, and even though the defense gave up only 17 points they still ended up losing by seven points. Justin Herbert had a solid game but it wasn’t enough. Herbert completed 16 of his 27 passes for 179 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Ladd McConkey finished with five catches for 67 yards and a touchdown. 

The Chargers on the season are averaging 17 points while their defense is giving up 12.5 points per game. The offense is ranked 28th in the league while the defense is ranked 2nd in the league. In this game, the defense is going to need to step up and really try to make life difficult on the Broncos offense. The Chargers will take on the Cardinals after this one.

No one is really talking about the Broncos but they have won three games in a row. In the last game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Broncos scored 34 points and that was enough 16-point victory. The Broncos fell behind 10-0 in the first quarter and they looked to be in trouble. They took a lead into halftime though and they never looked back on the victory. Bo Nix completed 19 of his 27 passes for 206 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Nix at times has looked like a rookie, but he has also been improving in the last few games. 

The Broncos are averaging 19.2 points while their defense is giving up 14.6 points per game. The offense is ranked 22nd in the league while the defense is ranked 2nd. In this game, the defense is going to need to step up again in a big way to try and put the pressure on. 

Why the Broncos Will Beat the Chargers

I am really not sold on either of these teams honestly but we will take our chances with the underdog. Nix in his last start was impressive throwing for 206 yards and two touchdowns and he can find enough success against the Chargers' defense. The Broncos might not score 27 points here, but they will score at least 21 points, and that will be enough to get the job done. Back the Broncos against the spread.
