In this article we will formulate an Atlanta Falcons vs Baltimore Ravens prediction for this NFL Preseason game on Saturday, August 17th at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this preseason battle in week two.
Atlanta Falcons Betting Preview
The Atlanta Falcons are 0-1 this preseason after they lost to Miami by a score of 20-13 last week. Atlanta led 10-3 after the first quarter, but they were out scored 17-3 the rest of the way for the loss. The Falcons were out gained by a total of 265-226 and they went 2-17 on third down conversions in the game. Michael Penix Jr. went 9-16 for 104 yards, while Rourke and Heinicke both finished with less than 50% completion. Carlos Washington Jr. had 16 carries for 25 yards and one score.
Atlanta went 1-1-1 in the 2023 preseason, which started with a 19-3 win over Miami, before tying the Bengals at 13 in game two. The Falcons finished the preseason with a 24-0 loss against Pittsburgh. Atlanta is expected to sit Kirk Cousins for this game, so we should see Penix Jr. and Heinicke get most of the snaps.
Baltimore Ravens Betting Preview
The Baltimore Ravens are 0-1 this preseason after they lost to Philadelphia by a score of 16-13 in their first game. Baltimore tied the game at 13 with 5:46 left in the fourth quarter, but they allowed a game-winning 49 yard field goal as time expired for the loss. The Ravens were out gained by a total of 259-164 and went 2-12 on third down in the loss. Josh Johnson threw for 62 yards, while Devin Leary added 37 passing yards. Owen Wright rushed for 33 yards on seven carries.
Baltimore was 1-2 in the preseason last year, which began with a 20-19 win over the Eagles. The Ravens followed that up with a 29-28 loss against Washington, before losing 26-20 to the Bucs in the finale. Baltimore’s quarterback situation is not great, as Lamar Jackson is not expected to play, so we should see more of Josh Johnson, Devin Leary, and Emory Jones in this game.
Atlanta Falcons vs Baltimore Ravens Prediction
Both of these teams lost their first preseason game last week and will look for their first win of the season here. Baltimore’s offense was pretty bad in their first game, as they failed to hit 200 yards, and I don’t see it being much better with their backup quarterback play. Atlanta has some experience under center with Heinicke, but I would assume we are going to see a healthy dose of Penix Jr. once again. I don’t love the backup quarterbacks in this matchup and I think points are going to be hard to come by, so my Atlanta Falcons vs Baltimore Ravens prediction is for this game to go under the total.
