Portland Trail Blazers Betting Preview
The Portland Trail Blazers kicked off their season with three impressive wins in a row, but they are now looking to bounce back after getting mauled by the Grizzlies in a 124-103 home defeat on Thursday. Deni Avdija led the team with 24 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, Ja Morant added 14 points while Tounami Camara chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot just 41 percent from the field and 12 of 40 from the 3-point line as they got off to a decent start and looked to be in control when they took an eight-point lead in the second quarter, but that turned out to be the real high point for the Trail Blazers who ran out of gas and scored just 45 points in the second half to get run over by the young Grizzlies. Damian Lillard had a rough game as he shot just three of 13 from the field and one of nine from the 3-point line for his nine points while Jrue Holiday scored just six points on two of seven shooting.
Utah Jazz Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have yet to get going this season as they’ve dropped four of their first five games and they are now on a three-game losing streak after falling just short to the Spurs in a 117-111 overtime loss on Wednesday. Keyonte George led the team with 31 points, Ace Bailey added 19 points on nine of 18 shooting, Darryn Peterson scored 18 points while Brice Sensabaugh chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Jazz shot 42 percent from the field and 15 of 39 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and took a 10-point lead midway through the second quarter, but they missed on a crucial chance to steal the lead at the end of regulation and that came back to bite them in the overtime period where they managed just six points to allow the Spurs off the hook in the end.
Portland v Utah Free Prediction
The Trail Blazers have ruled out Shaedon Sharpe and Ja Morant with Chris Youngblood and Robert Williams III both questionable, while the Jazz have ruled out Jusuf Nurkic and Jaren Jackson Jr with Lauri Markkanen listed as questionable. You expect a real bounce back performance from the Trail Blazers after getting humbled by the Grizzlies in their last outing, but they will be without Morant which makes this road trip tricky. The Jazz have stumbled their way through the first five games but they looked great in their overtime loss to the Spurs and I think they represent decent value as the home underdog here. The Trail Blazers probably do enough to get the win on the road, but I think the Jazz make this a battle right till the end.
