The Brooklyn Nets play host to the Detroit Pistons at the Barclays Center on Friday night.
Detroit Pistons Betting Preview
The Detroit Pistons have been in great form as they’ve reeled off four wins from their first five games and they will be eager to keep it going after taking apart the Hornets in a 97-89 home win on Wednesday. Cade Cunningham led the team with 30 points and seven assists, Paul Reed added 16 points while Duncan Robinson chipped in with 13 points and four steals. As a team, the Pistons shot 45 percent from the field and 13 of 33 from the 3-point line as they struggled to make their shots early on and scored just 44 points in the first half to trail early, but they were able to rely on their elite defense to restrict the Hornets to just 38 points in the second half to secure the narrow win at home despite a poor shooting night.
Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have yet to get their season started as they’ve dropped their first four games and they might still be kicking themselves after losing a heartbreaking 125-124 overtime game to the Celtics on Tuesday. Michael Porter Jr led the team with 27 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks, Julius Randle added 24 points with nine rebounds and four assists while Mikel Brown Jr chipped in with 17 points and five assists off the bench. As a team, the Nets shot 46 percent from the field and 17 of 50 from the 3-point line as they rallied at the end of the fourth quarter to force overtime on a dramatic tying 3-pointer from Brown Jr, only to get stunned at the buzzer in overtime by the Cetlics’ Jayson Tatum.
Detroit v Brooklyn Free Prediction
The Pistons have ruled out Jalen Duren and they have listed Isaiah Joe as questionable for this one, while the Nets are still missing Tyler Bilodeau and Egor Demin. The Nets are still winless after four games, but they deserve plenty of credit for how they almost took down the Celtics in their last outing. However, the Pistons are already rolling and they just survived a major scare in their last outing, so I don’t think the Nets can catch them off guard, so to speak. I don;t think the Nets are far away from their first win of the season, but I just don’t think they will get even close in this matchup. I like the Pistons to get off to a better start on offense to set up a double digit win on the road in this spot.
