Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview
The Los Angeles Lakers have been on a tear as they’ve reeled off eight wins from their first 10 games and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after sneaking past the Trail Blazers in a 124-118 home win on Friday. Luka Doncic led the team with a season-high 53 points on 17 of 33 shooting, Austin Reaves added 25 points while Walker Kessler tallied 16 points with 12 rebounds. As a team, the Lakers shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 37 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sluggish start and scored just 20 points in the first quarter to trail by as many as 16 points, but they chipped away at the deficit before they dominated the third quarter by 34-15 to take a 16-point lead themselves. It wasn’t the most clinical of wins as the Lakers did leak 43 points in the fourth quarter, but Doncic kept finding a way on offense to send them to 5-1 at home this season.
Detroit Pistons Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in pretty good shape as they’ve won six of their first eight games but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after having their three-game win streak halted by the 76ers in a 112-106 loss on Wednesday. Duncan Robinson drained seven 3-pointers to lead the scoring with 27 points on eight of 12 shooting, Cade Cunningham tallied 26 points with seven rebounds and 11 assists while John Collins chipped in with 16 points on seven of nine shooting. As a team, the Pistons shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and scored just 42 points in the first half to fall behind by 17 points which was a shame because the Pistons rallied to cut the deficit to just six points before they ran out of time.
Los Angeles v Detroit Free Prediction
The Lakers are keeping an eye on Luka Doncic who is currently listed as questionable, while the Pistons have ruled out Jalen Duren and Isaiah Joe.
This is definitely a game where you should check the lineups before tipoff given the injury cloud hanging over the Lakers’ Luka Doncic. With that being said, the Lakers can still lean on Reaves to carry the offensive burden in the short term, but I just don’t think that would bode well against the Pistons’ elite defense. Assuming that Doncic sits out, I will lean with the Pistons to take advantage and secure a narrow win and cover at home in a low-scoring affair.
