Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks have struggled to get going this season, but they are now gunning for a third straight victory after blowing past the league-leading Cavaliers in a 117-101 home win last night. De'Andre Hunter led the team in scoring with 23 points off the bench, Trae Young added 21 points with 11 assists while Jalen Johnson chipped in with 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 51 percent from the field and 14 of 34 from the 3-point line as they traded baskets with the Cavaliers in a closely contested first half, before they exploded for 39 points in the third quarter to lead by as many as 20 points. The Hawks will meet the Pelicans and Bucks after this game.
Charlotte Hornets
Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have been in a major slump as they've lost six of their last seven games and they will be hoping to arrest a four-game slide after falling painfully short to the Knicks in a 99-98 loss last night. Brandon Miller led the team with 20 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three blocks, Josh Green added 15 points while Tidjane Salaun chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Hornets shot just 40 percent from the field and 15 of 47 from the 3-point line, but they played excellent defense to take an early 10-point lead which kept them in front until the Knicks snuck ahead late in the fourth quarter. The Hornets will face the 76ers following this one.

Atlanta Hawks vs Charlotte Hornets Prediction
The Hawks are still a little shorthanded with Cody Zeller still out, while the Hornets are keeping an eye on LaMelo Ball who sat out last night's game due to left calf soreness. The Hawks went from cold to hot in just a couple of games as they were really struggling before they took down the league-leading Cavaliers twice in a row. Meanwhile, the Hornets have continued their downward spiral and they could again be without their best player in Ball, but they deserve plenty of credit for how competitive they were in last night's narrow loss to the Knicks. Maybe the Hornets can keep this one close, but in the end, I have the Hawks escaping with the win and cover at the short line.
