The Indiana Pacers play host to the New York Knicks at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
The New York Knicks have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their first seven games, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after having their three-game win streak halted by the Raptors in a 113-104 home loss on Monday. RJ Barrett led the team with 27 points on nine of 13 shooting, Julius Randle added 22 points with nine rebounds and five assists while Kemba Walker chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Knicks shot 46 percent from the field and 16 of 38 from the 3-point line as they poured in 34 points in the first quarter to take an early 15-point lead, but all of their hard work went down the drain in the third quarter where the Raptors outscored them by 38-22 to steal momentum and the game. Derrick Rose had his worst game in a long time as he scored just four points on two of eight shooting off the bench.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in a real funk as they’ve lost five of their first seven games, but they will be keen to build some momentum after snapping a four-game losing streak with a 131-118 win over the Spurs on Monday. Domantas Sabonis led the team with 24 points, 13 rebounds and six assists, Myles Turner added 19 points with eight rebounds and three blocks, Chris Duarte added 18 points while Caris LeVert chipped in with 16 points and seven assists. As a team, the Pacers shot a healthy 57 percent from the field and 18 of 38 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 43 points in the first quarter, before making another run in the third quarter to lead by as many as 26 points. All five starters finished in double figures in scoring, Justin Holiday provided the spark off the bench with 17 points and the Pacers tallied 37 assists as a team in the much-needed win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Knicks are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 road games and 23-8 ATS in their last 31 games against a team with a losing record. The Pacers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall, the Knicks are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the Knicks are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Indiana.
The Pacers have continued to struggle with injuries as Malcolm Brogdon and Jeremy Lamb are both still out, but they looked great in their big win over the Spurs, particularly on the offensive end. However, the Knicks are a team in fine form and they were riding a three-game win streak before their loss to the Raptors on Monday. The Knicks are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Indiana and I think that trend continues here as the Knicks escape with the win here.
