Texas Rangers Betting Preview
The Texas Rangers won 81 games last season and have made the playoffs once in the last nine years. The Rangers are going to be competitive with a 1-2 punch of Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi, assuming deGrom can stay healthy, of course. Brandon Nimmo is a nice addition at the top of the batting lineup and Wyatt Langford is a legit superstar in the making. There are players you can work with, but the Rangers also lost a lot of offensive production and that bullpen has tons of new faces. We also know it’s likely only a matter of time before deGrom falls apart health-wise. The Rangers have a path to sneaking into the playoffs if everything brakes right but there are questions with this squad.
Nathan Eovaldi gets the ball for the Texas Rangers, and he was 11-3 with a 1.73 ERA and 129 strikeouts last season. Eovaldi is 5-4 with a 3.51 ERA and 49 strikeouts in his career against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Philadelphia Phillies Betting Preview
The Philadelphia Phillies have made the playoffs in each of the last four seasons and return the majority of the squad that’s made it happen. An offensive core of Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm, and Trea Turner is as good as it gets. J.T. Realmuto is still one of the best defensive catchers in the sport. The rotation has proven arms in Cristopher Sánchez, Aaron Nola, Taijuan Walker, and Jesus Luzardo. Losing Nick Castellanos hurts and it’s fair to question if this group has run its course. However, on paper, the Phillies are a solid team that should be favored to win the competitive NL East. There are no excuses for this team. It’s time for the Phillies to take that next step and push the Dodgers to come out of the NL.
Cristopher Sanchez gets the ball for the Philadelphia Phillies, and he was 13-5 with a 2.50 ERA and 212 strikeouts last season. This will be Sanchez’s second career game against the Texas Rangers.

Texas Rangers vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction
The Phillies are the better team and should be favored at home, but the value is with the Rangers and the plus money. Eovaldi had issues staying healthy last season, but he was a demon when he did pitch, posting a 1.73 ERA and .194 allowed batting average in 130 frames. Eovaldi is getting up there in age but when he’s going, he’s still a highly effective pitcher. I’m going to take a shot with the Rangers and the more favorable price.
