The St. Louis Cardinals and the Arizona Diamondbacks will meet on Sunday afternoon in the final game of a three‑game National League series at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

St. Louis Cardinals Betting Preview

The St. Louis Cardinals enter Sunday’s contest with a 51–46 overall record (3rd in the National League Central) and a robust 25–20 mark on the road. The Cardinals offense has been competitive to this point in the season. St. Louis has compiled 437 runs scored (14th in MLB), 131 doubles, 109 home runs and a .244 team batting average which ranks 13th in Major League Baseball.

The Cardinals arrive at this game in above average form. St. Louis has won three of the team’s last five games played this season, including a 4–1 victory over the Atlanta Braves earlier this month.

St. Louis will turn to right hander Andre Pallante in this contest. In eighteen starts made this season, Pallante has compiled a 10–6 win‑loss record, a 3.96 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP and 72 strikeouts, while allowing 97 hits and 29 walks in 100 innings pitched. Andre Pallante has struggled recently, allowing five or more earned runs in two of his last three starts made in 2026. Pallante will look to rebound from his recent poor performances on the mound in tomorrow’s matchup with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Shifting our focus to the Cardinals offense, the St. Louis lineup features outfielder Jordan Walker and first baseman Alec Burleson. Jordan Walker has compiled a .293 batting average (14th in MLB), 22 home runs (10th in MLB), 19 doubles, 75 RBIs (1st in MLB) and an .880 OPS. Alec Burleson has amassed a .275 batting average, 15 home runs, 67 RBIs (6th in MLB) and an .805 OPS.

Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview

The Arizona Diamondbacks enter Sunday’s matchup with a 50–48 overall record (2nd in the National League West) and a 28–21 mark at home. Arizona has played quality baseball recently, winning five of the team’s last six games, including a 5–4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals earlier this week.

Arizona will start left hander Eduardo Rodriguez in Sunday afternoon’s game. In nineteen starts made in 2026, Rodríguez has compiled an 8–3 record, a 2.29 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and 79 strikeouts, while allowing 94 hits and 39 walks in 114 innings pitched. Rodriguez arrives at this contest in good form, allowing one or fewer earned runs in five of his last six starts made this season.

Offensively, the Arizona Diamondbacks lineup features outfielder Corbin Carroll and second baseman Ketel Marte. Corbin Carroll has tallied a .250 batting average, 14 home runs, 47 RBIs, 48 walks and an .825 OPS. Ketel Marte has amassed a .259 batting average, 17 home runs, 30 walks, 55 RBIs and a .773 OPS.

Why the St. Louis Cardinals will win.

• Offensive upside. Alec Burleson and Jordan Walker continue to anchor the St. Louis Cardinals lineup.

• Ability to win on the road. The St. Louis Cardinals have amassed a 25-20 win-loss record away from home.

Why the Arizona Diamondbacks will win.

• Starting pitching advantage. Eduardo Rodríguez has compiled an 8–3 record, a 2.29 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and 79 strikeouts in 114 innings pitched.

• Home field edge. The Arizona Diamondbacks have played competitive baseball (28-21 home record) at Chase Field this season.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction

In my opinion, this matchup favors the Arizona Diamondbacks. Why? Arizona starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez arrives at this contest in good form, allowing one or fewer earned runs in five of his last six starts made this season. Conversely, St. Louis hurler Andre Pallante has struggled recently, allowing five or more earned runs in two of his last three starts made in 2026. With that said, the Diamondbacks are the clear side to be on in this one. In summary, I am backing the Arizona Diamondbacks on the moneyline in this game.
