The San Francisco Giants and the Arizona Diamondbacks will meet on Wednesday night in the final game of a three‑game National League West series at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

San Francisco Giants Betting Preview

The San Francisco Giants enter Wednesday’s contest with a 35–50 overall record (4th in the National League West) and a dreadful 17–28 mark on the road. The Giants offense has been inconsistent to this point in the season. San Francisco has compiled 343 runs scored (26th in MLB), 162 doubles, a .254 team batting average and 91 home runs which ranks a rather low 19th in Major League Baseball.

The Giants arrive at this evening’s contest in below average form. San Francisco has lost four of the team’s last six games played this season, including a 3–1 loss to the Atlanta Braves last week.

San Francisco will turn to right hander Trevor McDonald in this game. In ten starts made this season, McDonald has compiled a 2–6 win‑loss record, a 4.94 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP and 45 strikeouts, while allowing 50 hits and 19 walks in 51 innings pitched. McDonald will look to stabilize his early season performance in today’s matchup with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Shifting our focus to the Giants offense, the San Francisco lineup features second baseman Luis Arraez and third baseman Matt Chapman. Luis Arraez enters this contest with a .322 batting average (4th in MLB), 30 RBIs, 6 stolen bases and an .804 OPS.

Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview

The Arizona Diamondbacks enter Wednesday night’s matchup with a 43–42 overall record (3rd in the National League West) and a robust 26–17 mark at home. Arizona has played competitive baseball recently, winning two consecutive games, including a 5-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants three days ago.

Arizona will start right hander Zac Gallen in today’s game. In seventeen starts made this season, Gallen has compiled a 3–7 record, a 6.15 ERA, a 1.58 WHIP and 52 strikeouts, while allowing 109 hits and 27 walks in 86.1 innings pitched. Zac Gallen has struggled on the mound recently, allowing five or more earned runs in two straight starts made in 2026. Gallen will look to rebound from his recent poor performance in this evening’s matchup with the San Francisco Giants.

Offensively, the Arizona Diamondbacks lineup features outfielder Corbin Carroll and second baseman Ketel Marte. Corbin Carroll has tallied a .272 batting average, 13 home runs, 43 RBIs, 39 walks and a .881 OPS. Ketel Marte has amassed a .265 batting average, 17 home runs, 26 walks, 53 RBIs and an .806 OPS.

Why the San Francisco Giants will win.

• Offensive upside. Luis Arraez and Matt Chapman continue to lead the San Francisco Giants lineup.

• Quality starting pitching. Trevor McDonald has compiled a 4.94 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP in 51 innings pitched in 2026.

• Motivation factor. The San Francisco Giants have lost four of the team’s last six games.

Why the Arizona Diamondbacks will win.

• Starting pitching. In seventeen starts made this season, Zac Gallen has compiled a 3–7 record, a 6.15 ERA, a 1.58 WHIP and 52 strikeouts in 86.1 innings pitched.

• Home field edge. Arizona has played competitive baseball at Chase Field (26-17) this season.

• Current form. The Arizona Diamondbacks arrive at this afternoon’s contest on the heels of a two-game winning streak.

San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction

In my view, this matchup favors the San Francisco Giants. Why? Arizona starting pitcher Zac Gallen has struggled recently, allowing five or more earned runs in two consecutive starts made in 2026, while San Francisco hurler Trevor McDonald has allowed three or fewer earned runs in four of his last five starts made this season. With that said, the Giants are the clear side to be on in this one. I am backing the San Francisco Giants on the moneyline in this game.
