The Milwaukee Brewers and the San Diego Padres will meet on Tuesday night in a National League playoff matchup at Petco Park in San Diego, California. Let’s take a look at this matchup from a betting perspective.

Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview

The Milwaukee Brewers enter Tuesday’s contest with a 103–59 overall record (1st in the National League Central) and a rather impressive 48-33 mark on the road. The Brewers offense has been elite this season. Milwaukee has compiled 832 runs scored (2nd in MLB), 279 doubles (5th in MLB), 154 home runs and a .258 team batting average which ranks first in Major League Baseball.

The Brewers arrive at this contest in good form. More specifically, Milwaukee has won the team’s last two games, including a 3-2 victory over Sn Diego two days ago.

The Milwaukee Brewers will turn to right hander Dustin May in this game. In 31 starts made in 2026, May has compiled a 7-9 win-loss record, a 4.70 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP and 144 strikeouts in 145.2 innings pitched. Dustin May has been inconsistent recently, posting a 4.76 ERA in September. May will look to rebound from his recent subpar performances on the mound in tomorrow night’s matchup with the San Diego Padres.

The Brewers lineup features catcher William Contreras and second baseman Brice Turang. Contreras enters this contest with a .270 batting average, 18 home runs, 27 doubles, 59 walks, 94 RBIs and a .758 OPS. Brice Turang has amassed a .268 batting average, 21 home runs, 100 RBIs (9th in MLB) and an .816 OPS.

San Diego Padres Betting Preview

The San Diego Padres enter Tuesday night’s contest with a 91-71 overall record (2nd in National League West) and a 51-30 mark at home. The Padres arrive at this contest in below average form, losing the last two games played this season.

The Padres will start right hander Nick Pivetta in this contest. In eight starts made this season, Pivetta has compiled a 3-2 win-loss record, a 2.86 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 34.2 innings pitched. Nick Pivetta has pitched well recently, allowing one earned run or less in four of his last five starts made in 2026.

Shifting our focus to the San Diego offense, the Padres lineup features Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado. Tatis Jr. enters this contest with a .289 batting average (14th in MLB), 25 home runs and 83 RBIs. Machado has tallied a team leading 30 home runs, 91 RBIs and a .711 OPS.

Why the Milwaukee Brewers will win.

• Current form. The Milwaukee Brewers arrive at this contest on the heels of a two-game winning streak.

• Offensive stability. William Contreras and Brice Turang have been key contributors for the Milwaukee Brewers this season.

Why the San Diego Padres will win.

• Home field advantage. The San Diego Padres have played exceptional baseball at home, amassing a 51-30 win-loss record at Petco Park.

• Starting pitching. In eight starts made this season, Nick Pivetta has compiled a 3-2 win-loss record, a 2.86 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 34.2 innings pitched.

• Enhanced motivation. The San Diego Padres have lost two consecutive games.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. San Diego Padres Prediction

In my view, this matchup favors the San Diego Padres. Why? San Diego starting pitcher Nick Pivetta has pitched well recently, allowing just one earned run or less in four of his last five starts made in 2026. Additionally, the Padres have played exceptional baseball at home this season, amassing a robust 51-30 win-loss record at Petco Park. With that said, San Diego is the clear side to be on in this one. I am backing the San Diego Padres on the moneyline in this game.
