The pitching almost blew it late, but they were still able to secure the 5-4 victory. Tanner Scott came out of the bullpen and had his issues, going only one inning giving up three hits and three runs. Yamamoto got the start for the Dodgers and he went seven innings giving up four hits and one earned run. He had 10 strikeouts and zero walks. In terms of the offense it was mostly a balanced attack.

On Sunday, however, the offense managed only two runs, which ultimately led to the series loss. Mitch Keller did have a strong start though, going five innings, giving up four hits and zero runs. Colin Holderman wasn’t great out of the bullpen, giving up three hits and one run in an inning of work.

Give me the Dodgers to get the job done here in a big way, it’s not going to be all that close. Mlodzinski has been fine, but he hasn’t gone deep in games, and even if he has a good start, I don’t trust the Pirates’ bullpen. On the mound for the Dodgers is Clayton Kershaw who has been dominant this season, and the Pirates’ bats are going to be no answer for him. This is going to get out of hand early.
