The Detroit Tigers and the Seattle Mariners will meet on Wednesday night in the second game of a three‑game American League series at T‑Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington.

Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

The Detroit Tigers enter Wednesday’s contest with a 55–58 overall record (4th in the American League Central) and a 25–31 mark on the road. The Tigers offense has been competitive to this point in the season. Detroit has compiled 925 runs scored (13th in MLB), 173 doubles, a .243 team batting average and 141 doubles which ranks ninth in Major League Baseball.

The Tigers arrive at this evening’s game in good form. Detroit has won five of the team’s last six games played this season, including a convincing 11-0 shutout victory over the Athletics three days ago.

Detroit will turn to right hander Drew Anderson in this contest. In two starts made this season, Anderson has compiled a 4.24 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP and 78 strikeouts, while allowing 59 hits and 24 walks in 63.2 innings pitched. Anderson will look to stabilize his recent inconsistent performances on the mound in tonight’s matchup with the Seattle Mariners.

Shifting our focus to the Detroit offense, the Tigers lineup features catcher Dillon Dingler and shortstop Kevin McGonigle. Dillon Dingler has amassed 24 home runs (19th in MLB), 73 RBIs (10th in MLB), 22 doubles, 26 walks and an .855 OPS. Kevin McGonigle has compiled a .284 batting average, 11 home runs, 20 doubles, 71 walks, 42 RBIs and an .818 OPS.

Seattle Mariners Betting Preview

The Seattle Mariners enter Wednesday night’s matchup with a 55–59 overall record (3rd in the American League West) and a 32–25 mark at home. Seattle has played below average baseball recently, winning four of the team’s last six games, including a 6–2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier this week.

Seattle will start right hander Bryan Woo in today’s game. In 21 starts made this season, Woo has compiled a 7–8 record, a 4.56 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP (23rd in MLB) and 122 strikeouts which ranks 25th in Major League Baseball, while allowing 112 hits and 26 walks in 120.1 innings pitched. Woo has struggled recently, allowing five or more earned runs in two straight starts made in 2026.

The Seattle Mariners lineup features outfielder Randy Arozarena and first baseman Josh Naylor. Randy Arozarena has tallied a .282 batting average, 14 home runs, 44 walks, 49 RBIs and an .830 OPS. Josh Naylor has compiled a .261 batting average, 8 home runs, 12 doubles, 32 walks, 40 RBIs and a .683 OPS.

Why the Detroit Tigers will win.

• Offensive upside. Dillon Dingler continues to anchor the Detroit Tigers lineup.

• Anderson’s strikeout ability. Drew Anderson has shown strong swing and miss metrics across 63.2 innings pitched.

• Current form. The Detroit Tigers have won five of the team’s last six games.

Why the Seattle Mariners will win.

• Starting pitching advantage. Bryan Woo has compiled a 1.15 WHIP and a 4.56 ERA across 21 starts this season.

• Home field edge. Seattle has played competitive baseball at T‑Mobile Park this season.

• Offensive production. Randy Arozarena and Josh Naylor lead the Seattle Mariners lineup.

Detroit Tigers vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction

In my view, this matchup favors the Tigers staying within the number (1.5) with the potential of Detroit winning the game outright. Why? Seattle hurler Bryan Woo has struggled recently, allowing five or more earned runs in two consecutive starts made this season. Additionally, Detroit arrives at this contest in good form, winning five of the team’s last six games. With that said, I am backing the Detroit Tigers plus the 1.5 runs in this game.

Hans Geevers's Pick: Detroit Tigers +1.5
