Luis Gil will get the start for the Yankees and is 14-6 with a 3.14 ERA and 161 strikeouts this season. This will be Gil’s first career start against Oakland. New York Yankees Recap
The New York Yankees come into this one looking to complete the sweep after picking up a 10-0 win over Oakland in Saturday’s matchup. The win in the series extended New York’s series win streak including sets over the Mariners, Red Sox, and Royals as well in the last two weeks.

Juan Soto has 160 hits along with 31 doubles and 40 home runs with 104 RBIs to go along with a .288 batting average and .418 OBP. Aaron Judge has a team-high 54 home runs and 137 RBIs of his own along with a team-leading 35 doubles while also posting 165 strikeouts so far this season. Anthony Volpe added 153 hits with 12 home runs, 7 triples, 59 RBIs, and a team-high 27 stolen bases as well this season. Why the New York Yankees will win

- The road team has covered the run line in seven of the last eight games between the Yankees and Athletics.
- The Athletics have failed to cover the run line in each of their last four games against American League opponents.
Oakland A’s Recap
The Oakland A’s come into this game hoping to avoid the sweep after ending up with a blowout loss on Saturday. The loss meant that the A’s would be unable to follow up on their series win over the Cubs from earlier in the week.

- The Athletics have covered the run line in eight of their last nine-day games against AL East opponents following a loss.
- The Yankees have failed to cover the run line in each of their last seven Sunday games at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.
Yankees vs. A’s Prediction
I’m on the Yankees here. I get that the A’s are a tempting home dog and the A’s have actually won a lot of Estes’ starts in Oakland as he’s been a much better pitcher at home this year. However, the Yankees have everything to play for here and Estes has been getting hit in some of his recent outings. Gil’s been one of the more consistent arms the Yankees have had for much of the year and I think New York gets the job done in this one. Give me New York here.
