New York had plenty of chances to win game one of this series on Tuesday night, but they couldn’t get it done and ended up allowing quite a few runs to Cleveland in the 12th inning. New York is just 32-28 at home this year, while Cleveland is 35-32 on the road. The Guardians have played better in their last nine games and they are keeping some distance between them and the Royals. Cleveland is going with Cantillo, who is making his fourth start of the season, but this is a very tall task for him. New York is starting Cortes, who has pitched pretty poorly over the last few weeks, but did have a solid start against the White Sox last time out. I think we could see a higher scoring game here, but my Cleveland Guardians vs New York Yankees prediction is for the Yankees to win by at least two runs.
