Starting Pitching Matchup
The New York Mets will send out Sean Manaea for the start here and Manaea is 8-4 with a 3.30 ERA and 122 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against Seattle, Manaea is 2-3 with a 3.77 ERA and 31 strikeouts. New York Mets Recap
The New York Mets will be looking for a better start than what they brought to the plate on Friday which wasn’t ideal for the Mets after their series at Coors Field to start the week. The Mets could use a solid result here with a home set against the Oakland A’s starting on Tuesday.

Entering Friday, Pete Alonso has 25 home runs and 63 RBIs with 26 doubles and Francisco Lindor has 28 doubles of his own with 22 home runs and 67 RBIs along with 24 stolen bases. Brandon Nimmo has 66 RBIs and 121 strikeouts while Lindor has a team-high 120 hits and Harrison Bader has 15 stolen bases as well this season.
Why the New York Mets will win

- The Mets have covered the run line each of their last eight night games against teams that held a winning record.

Seattle Mariners Recap
The Seattle Mariners will try to keep their momentum going after a strong showing in Friday’s opener, looking to put the series loss to Detroit in their rear view with a series rematch against the Tigers coming up with game one on Tuesday.

Going into Friday’s matchup, Julio Rodriguez leads the Mariners with 101 hits including a .263 batting average and also has 9 doubles. Cal Raleigh has a team-high 24 home runs along with 69 RBIs and 131 strikeouts. New York Mets vs Seattle Mariners Prediction
I’m on the Mariners here. I just don’t love this matchup for Sean Manaea as the Mariners were hitting lefties fairly well even when this team was struggling offensively at the plate. The Mets need wins themselves, but Gilbert can be a tough out, especially at home, and I just think this is a rough series for the Mets to find themselves in. All in all I think home field is the difference here and the Mariners get the job done. Give me Seattle.
