Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview
Early in the week, the Blue Jays took on the Baltimore Orioles. Toronto was only able to win one of those games, an 8-4 result in the nightcap Monday. After an 8-5 win over the Yankees in their opener, on Saturday the Jays were out-hit 10-8 in an 8-3 loss. Starting pitcher Jose Berrios put up 5.0 innings with five earned runs.
It’ll be Yariel Rodriguez in the starter slot for the Blue Jays on Sunday. This season Rodriguez is 1-4 with a 4.31 ERA in the first 10 starts of his MLB career.
New York Yankees Betting Preview
Over on the Yankees’ side, they were able to notch a much-needed sweep over the Philadelphia Phillies in their last set. New York won those games 14-4, 7-6 and 6-5. On Saturday the Yankees were up 6-1 by the end of the fifth inning and cruised from there. As starter for Sunday the Yankees it’ll be Gerrit Cole. So far Cole is 3-2 with a 5.40 ERA and 38 strikeouts total.

Toronto Blue Jays vs New York Yankees Prediction
I might try the Blue Jays on a value play. Probably not touching it, though. Rodriguez didn’t fare so well in his last outing though, so he’ll need to return to form here. In that one Rodriguez gave up three earned on four walks and a hit in 0.2 innings during a loss. Prior to that he had four earned in 9.2 innings across two outings, though.
On Saturday the Jays didn’t get a whole lot of offense outside of Vladimir Guerrero’s three hits, two runs and solo homer. (Alejandro Kirk had two RBI, though.) The good news is that the bullpen performed well after Berrios left. The bad news is that the bats couldn’t keep up. Toronto should have a decent shot Sunday though, even with Cole on the mound.
