In their last series the Royals took on the Chicago White Sox. Kansas City did very well in that one, taking a sweep with wins 8-5, 4-3 and 10-3. After a 7-1 victory over the Tigers in the opener, on Friday the Royals posted a 9-2 blowout win. Starter Cole Ragans finished with 5.2 innings and two earned runs.
In the starter role for the Royals on Saturday it’ll be Michael Lorenzen. This year Lorenzen is 5-6 with a 3.81 ERA in 19 games (18 starts). Lorenzen is 45-44 with a 4.08 career ERA in 361 games (87 starts).
Detroit Tigers Betting Preview
Over on the Tigers’ side, they played a couple of games versus the Cleveland Guardians this week. Detroit managed to lose both of those games however, falling 8-4 and 5-0. On Friday the Tigers were out-hit 14-3 in the defeat. Tarik Skubal managed 6.1 innings and had five earned runs.
As starter for Saturday’s game, the Tigers didn’t immediately announce a name.

Kansas City Royals vs Detroit Tigers Prediction
I might try the Royals here. Lorenzen had a rough outing with the Rangers versus Toronto late last month, posting four earned in 0.2 innings during a loss. He came back in relief the next day and pitched well, however (4.0 innings; one earned). Lorenzen should be able to handle the Tigers lineup if all goes well.
On Friday the Royals came back from an early 2-0 hole and sealed the win with six seventh-inning runs. The bullpen was the real headline though, with 3.1 frames, one hit and one walk. I like KC to keep it up Saturday.
