This week the Nationals took on the New York Mets. Things didn’t go very well for Washington in that matchup, as the Nats took losses 7-5, 6-2 and 7-0 for a sweep. On Friday versus the Brewers, the Nationals posted 12 team hits in a 5-2 win. Starter Jackson Rutledge finished with 4.2 innings and two earned runs.
In the starter role for Saturday the Nationals are going with Mitchell Parker. This year Parker is 5-5 with a 3.44 ERA across the first 16 starts of his career. Parker has 74 Ks in 91.2 total frames.
Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview
Over on the Brewers’ side, they played the Pittsburgh Pirates in their last series. Milwaukee won 9-0 in the middle game of that set but otherwise lost 12-2 and 1-0. On Friday the Brewers would end up with just four hits in the defeat. Freddy Peralta put up 5.0 innings with 10 hits and four earned in the start.
Dallas Keuchel will make the start for the Brewers on Saturday. So far in 2024 Keuchel has a 4.61 ERA without a decision over three starts. Keuchel is 103-92 with a 4.03 ERA in 281 career games (266 starts).

Washington Nationals vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction
I’ll probably just stay with the Brewers. Keuchel had a rough start versus the Rangers to finish off June, posting five earned in 4.0 innings. Since then Keuchel has two earned over 9.2 innings in a pair of starts (no decisions). As for Parker, he’s coming off one earned in 7.0 innings versus the Cardinals. Parker is just 0-2 in his last three outings, though.
On Friday the Brewers got very little action at the plate outside of Sal Frelick (three hits; RBI) and Willy Adames (RBI; run), who combined for all four of the team’s hits. The good news is that the bullpen wasn’t bad (4.0 innings; one earned). Milwaukee has scored two or fewer runs in three of the last four games; they’ve got to get the bats going Saturday.
