The San Francisco Giants and the Cleveland Guardians meet Saturday in MLB action from Progressive Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a San Francisco Giants vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The San Francisco Giants will start Kyle Harrison here and Harrison is 4-3 with a 3.96 ERA and 68 strikeouts this season. This will be Harrison’s second career start against the Guardians. The Cleveland Guardians will start Logan Allen here and Allen is 8-4 with a 5.75 ERA and 67 strikeouts this season. This will be Allen’s second career start against the Giants.

San Francisco Giants Recap

The San Francisco Giants come into this one looking to build on their 4-2 win over the Guardians from Friday’s series opener. The win put the Giants in a good spot to keep their series win streak alive after knocking off the Braves, Dodgers and Cubs all in the last two weeks.

Giants Trying To Get Back To .500

Thairo Estrada has 68 hits along with a team-high 9 home runs and 39 RBIs while also chipping in 14 doubles. Michael Conforto has 53 hits with 9 home runs, 13 doubles and 31 RBIs while Matt Chapman has 80 hits of his own alongside 23 doubles with 12 homers, 42 RBIs and 7 stolen bases. Chapman also has the dubious distinction of leading the Giants with 87 strikeouts this season.

Why the San Francisco Giants will win

  • The Giants have won four of their last five games as underdogs.
  • The Guardians have lost four of their last five games as favorites against NL West opponents.
  • The road team has covered the run line in each of the last seven games between the Giants and Guardians.
  • The Guardians have failed to cover the run line in each of their last five day games against the Giants following a loss.

Cleveland Guardians Recap

The Cleveland Guardians come into this one looking to rebound from their loss to the Giants to kick off the series on Friday, putting the Guardians at risk of failing to build on their series win over the Chicago White Sox to start the week.

Guardians Trying To Hold On Atop AL Central

Jose Ramirez leads the Guardians with 91 hits as well as 23 home runs and 76 RBIs while Josh Naylor also has 21 home runs and 64 RBIs of his own. Ramirez has a team-high 17 doubles while Tyler Freeman has 12 doubles and Andres Gimenez has 41 RBIs with 14 stolen bases while the aforementioned Ramirez has a team-high 16 stolen bases on the year.

Why the Cleveland Guardians will win

  • The Guardians have won each of their last seven home games following a home loss.
  • The Giants have lost each of their last six day games against AL Central opponents following a win.
  • The Giants have failed to cover the run line in each of their last six day games against AL Central opponents following a win.
  • The Guardians have covered the run line in each of their last four day games following a loss.

San Francisco Giants vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

I’m on the Giants here. I get the case for the Guardians being favored at home as Cleveland is still one of the best home teams in baseball this season, but Logan Allen’s really struggled at home this season and while Kyle Harrison’s coming off of an injury, he was pitching well before that and the Giants have been able to do damage against left-handed pitching in recent weeks. All in all, I think the Giants have some decent value here so I’ll side with the Giants in this one.
