The Rangers faced off against the Kansas City Royals in their weekend series. Texas did well in that set, taking the sweep with wins 6-2, 6-0 and 4-0. After a 6-3 opener loss to the Brewers, on Tuesday the Rangers took a 3-1 loss. Starter Andrew Heaney went 5.0 innings with two earned runs.

In the starter role for Wednesday’s game the Rangers are sending out Nathan Eovaldi. This year Eovaldi is 4-3 with a 3.14 ERA in 12 starts. Over his 277 career games (258 starts) Eovaldi is 83-76 with a 4.06 ERA.

Over on the Brewers’ side, they had a rough time versus the San Diego Padres over the weekend. Milwaukee lost 7-6, 9-5 and 6-4 before a 6-2 Sunday victory. On Tuesday against the Rangers, Milwaukee managed eight team hits in the win.

Colin Rea will take the starter role for the Brewers on Wednesday. So far this year Rea is 6-2 with a 3.62 ERA in 15 games (13 starts). Rea is 20-16 with a 4.49 ERA in 77 games (62 starts) during his career.

Texas Rangers vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction

I’ll probably just try the Rangers. Eovaldi had a rough go of things versus the Mariners back on June 15 with four earned over 3.0 innings. He came back with two earned in 6.0 frames in a win over the Royals, though. As for Rea, he’s coming off five earned in 5.1 innings versus the Padres but had been pitching well prior to that.

On Tuesday the Rangers couldn’t do much on five team hits, each spread out with a different batter. The pitching wasn’t terrible though, and only two bullpen arms went out. I think the Rangers can bounce back Wednesday.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Texas Rangers -109
