LA-Monroe vs Arkansas State Prediction
I’ll go with Arkansas State. The Red Wolves were able to power past a decent Georgia State team in their last outing thanks to 469 total yards, 24 first downs and zero turnovers. The third-down conversion rate (2-of-10) was pretty ugly, though. On defense Arkansas State gave up 429 yards with 4-of-12 on third downs and two interceptions. The Red Wolves have been scoring pretty well lately, with 23 or more points in three straight games.
As for LA-Monroe, they couldn’t quite keep pace with a struggling Southern Miss team last weekend, giving up 379 yards total and 249 yards on the ground. The Warhawks mustered 23 first downs and 359 total yards themselves but did have a couple of lost fumbles. LA-Monroe isn’t scoring too badly this year but they tend to give up a ton of points. Arkansas State shouldn’t have too much trouble finding the scoreboard.

The Warhawks opened up the season on a rough skid. LA-Monroe lost their first six games, falling to Mississippi State, UAB, Southeastern Louisiana, Florida Atlantic, South Alabama and Louisiana Tech in that stretch. The Warhawks managed to get their first win over Troy on October 24 though, improving their record ever so slightly to a still-rough 1-6 over the first seven outings of the year.
In the Southern Miss game on Halloween, the Warhawks gave up a touchdown and a field goal during the second quarter for a 10-0 halftime deficit. UL-Monroe cut the lead to three in the third but didn’t end up getting any closer than that in an eventual loss 35-21. QB Aidan Armenta was 19-of-34 for 202 yards and two scores. Don Chaney had 10 carries for 54 yards and Marcellus Jackson’s 83-yard TD catch put him atop the receivers for the day.
Arkansas State Red Wolves Betting Preview
Over on the Arkansas State side, they’ve had a very bumpy run this year but they’ve done better lately. The Red Wolves kicked off the season with a 2-4 stretch, beating only West Georgia and Kennesaw State amid losses otherwise versus Memphis, TCU, Louisiana and South Alabama. After wins over Southern Miss and Georgia State in the last two outings, Arkansas State is .500 overall at 4-4 in the books.
