We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Texas A&M vs Alabama pick. As we conclude, we will tie it all together with a summary that produces a sensible pick for a favorable betting outcome in this game.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

The Aggies got off to a solid start this year but it’s been a tricky run since then. The first two games were both wins over Missouri State and Arizona State. The next four outings were a 1-3 stretch for Texas A&M, though. The team beat only Arkansas in that time while otherwise falling to Kentucky, LSU and Missouri for a 3-3 start through the first six games of the season.

In their matchup with the Citadel last weekend, the Aggies didn’t have too many issues. Texas A&M was up 28-0 by the end of the first half and kept pouring it on from there. When the dust settled the Aggies had a 41-0 blowout/shutout win. QB Marcel Reed was 8-of-13 for 130 yards and a TD. Jamarion Morrow scored three times on the ground on eight carries for 54 yards.

Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Preview

Over on the Alabama side, they started out the season on a great run. The Tide beat East Carolina in their opener, then dispatched Kentucky in game two. Alabama kept it going with wins in the next three games over Florida State, South Carolina and Mississippi State. Alabama’s first loss of the year came on October 10 versus Georgia in a 20-17 result.

Matched up against Tennessee, the Tide surrendered a trio of field goals in the first quarter and went into the locker room with a 12-10 deficit. Alabama couldn’t find the scoreboard in the second half and eventually lost a tough road game 26-10. QB Keelon Russell was 19-of-29 for 147 yards and two picks. Daniel Hill rushed seven times for 34 yards in the loss.

Texas A&M vs Alabama Prediction

I’ll stay with Alabama. The Tide need a good performance here after the loss to Tennessee last weekend though. In that one Alabama came up with just 201 total yards, 12 first downs, 2-of-13 on third downs and four turnovers. The defense wasn’t terrible but they had trouble getting off the field on the Vols’ 35:44 in time of possession. Alabama has lost consecutive games now, scoring a combined 27 points in those outings.
As for Texas A&M, they demolished the Citadel last weekend thanks to 26 first downs, 501 total yards and zero turnovers. The defense gave up just 183 yards, 12 first downs and 5-of-15 on third downs. The Aggies should make for a tricky opponent but Alabama should still have the advantage.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Alabama Crimson Tide -15.5
