Iowa vs Northwestern Prediction
I’ll lean toward Iowa, so long as they don’t suffer the proverbial “big-win hangover,” that is. The Hawkeyes played a stellar game in their win over Wisconsin last weekend, holding the Badgers to just nine first downs, 235 total yards and a 4-of-13 success rate on third downs alongside three takeaways. The offense was solid as well on 20 first downs, 362 total yards and 8-of-15 on third downs. The Hawkeyes had previously gone 1-2 in a three-game stretch with 14 or fewer points scored in both losses.
As for Northwestern, they gave up 17 first downs and 441 total yards in their loss to Oregon last weekend. The Wildcats managed 22 first downs and 456 yards offensively with a shaky 7-of-17 on third downs. The defeat halted a four-game win streak, so Northwestern will really want to dig in here to get another victory before going to Ohio State on November 14.

Iowa Hawkeyes Betting Preview
The Hawkeyes got off to a great start this year but things have been shaky lately. Iowa kicked things off with wins over Northern Illinois, Iowa State, Northern Iowa and Michigan in the first four. A 1-2 stretch came in the next three outings though, with a win over Washington in between losses to Ohio State and Minnesota. In the first seven games that gave Iowa a 5-2 overall record in the books.
In the Halloween matchup with Wisconsin the Hawkeyes got off to a great start, bagging two touchdowns and two field goals for a 20-0 edge at the break. Iowa kept it going in the second half with a great defensive effort and knocked off the No. 25-ranked team 30-0. QB Hank Brown had a 20-of-24 line for 222 yards and two scores. Xavier Williams carried 20 times for 78 yards and Tony Diaz caught four balls for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Northwestern Wildcats Betting Preview
Over on the Wildcats’ side, they were able to come out of the gate this year with a couple of wins, taking out South Dakota State and Colorado in that pair. Northwestern would take their first loss to Indiana on September 25, but then followed up with wins over Penn State, Ball State, Michigan State and Rutgers in the next four. Through seven games the Wildcats held a nice 6-1 overall record.
Matched up against Oregon last weekend the Wildcats posted a TD in the first quarter and another in the second on the way to a 20-13 halftime advantage. Northwestern was within one point early in the fourth quarter 27-26 but got shut out the rest of the way in a 34-26 loss. QB Aidan Chiles was 22-of-38 for 281 yards and a score while also leading the rush with 14 totes for 93 yards and another TD. Griffin Wilde added three catches for 146 yards and a touchdown.
