The Baylor Bears and the Kansas Jayhawks meet Saturday in college football action from David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence. Here’s a Baylor vs Kansas prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Baylor vs Kansas pick. We will examine the recent form and player performances for both teams, as well as the recent betting trends and streaks pertaining to this matchup. As we conclude, we will tie it all together with a summary that produces a sensible pick for a favorable betting outcome in this game.

Baylor Bears Betting Preview

Baylor opened the season on a down note but quickly picked things up from there. The first game this year was a tough 17-16 loss versus Auburn, but then came a win streak. The Bears would rattle off wins over Prairie View A&M, Louisiana Tech, Colorado and Arizona State across the next four games. Through five outings that would give Baylor a 4-1 start.

In the TCU matchup last weekend the Bears managed to stay in the game during the first half thanks to a couple of field goals for a 7-6 deficit. Baylor was shut down the rest of the way however, and ended up losing it 17-6. QB DJ Lagway was 22-of-53 for 256 yards and a pick. Caden Knighten led the rush with 10 carries for just 35 yards in the losing effort.

Kansas Jayhawks Betting Preview

Over on the Kansas side, they haven’t had quite as much success this year but to be fair they’ve also played some tough games already. The Jayhawks demolished Long Island U in the opener then lost to Missouri and Arizona State from there. Kansas would then blow out Middle Tennessee ahead of a 41-24 loss on the road versus Utah for a 2-3 start to the year.

Matched up against Kansas State last weekend the Jayhawks had a good first quarter and built up a 17-7 lead. The Jayhawks coughed up that lead in the second quarter though, and eventually came up short in a 35-24 loss. QB Isaiah Marshall was 12-of-26 for 151 yards, one TD and one pick while also leading the rush with 117 yards on 14 carries.

Baylor vs Kansas Prediction

I’ll stay with Baylor but it’s a coin flip. The Bears offense couldn’t find much room against TCU, going just 6-of-21 on third downs alongside a couple of turnovers. Baylor’s D gave up 18 first downs with 327 yards on the other side. The six points were Baylor’s fewest of the season. They’ve got just 22 combined points in their two losses.

As for Kansas, they went just 3-of-11 on third downs in their loss to Kansas State. The Jayhawks gave up a whopping 568 yards on defense with 359 rush yards, 25 first downs and 6-of-13 on third downs. Kansas has given up a combined 76 points in the last two games—both defeats—but they’re generally not scoring too badly overall this year.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Baylor Bears -1.5
