Weber State vs. Oregon State Prediction

Weber State and Oregon State have a lot of roster turnover, and it’s going to take both sides to get rolling. However, it’s fair to say the Beavers are in better shape and will have the best player on the floor. Weber State lost all of its top players and simply didn’t do enough to reload.

Thick line for a season opener, but you just expect the better team to do enough to get the job done. Tough spot for Weber State to open the season with a new roster. There’s better options out there on Monday, but I’ll lay the points with Oregon State if forced to pick.

Weber State Wildcats Betting Preview

Weber State won 16 games last season and enters the Kaleb Canales era. Weber State hasn’t made the NCAA Tournament since the 2015-16 season.

ArDarius Grayson returns after averaging 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds, while Declan Cutler averaged 1.5 points and 2.1 rebounds. Those are the only two returning players from last season. Weber State lost each of its last seven scorers from last season. There’s expected to be a lot of growing pains with this roster that has just one senior. Weber State is expected to be a bottom-half team in the Big Sky this season.

Oregon State Beavers Betting Preview

Oregon State won 17 games last season and begins the Justin Joyner era. Oregon State hasn’t made the big dance since the 2020-21 season.

Josiah Lake II returns after averaging 13.1 points and 4.1 rebounds, and he’s the only returning player from last season. Oregon State hit the portal hard, and that includes landing Chris Johnson from UCF, Xavion Staton from BYU, and Peteris Pinnis from Providence. Oregon State also snagged a four-star recruit in Yabi Aklog. Lake was the best player on Oregon State last season, but this is a completely different team otherwise. We’ll see just how quickly the Beavers can get going as they return to the PAC-12.
