Vanderbilt Commodores Betting Preview
The Commodores are on a great run over 11 games so far. The first six outings were all wins over Lipscomb, Central Florida, Eastern Kentucky, AR-Pine Bluff, Texas Southern and Western Kentucky. Vanderbilt followed that up with wins over VCU, Saint Mary’s, SMU, Central Arkansas and Memphis. That gives the Commodores a perfect 11-0 record so far this season.
In the Memphis matchup on Wednesday, the Commodores entered the second half with a 28-22 advantage but eventually had to go to overtime to power out a 77-70 win in the end. Tops in scoring was Duke Miles with 22 points, four rebounds and five assists. Tyler Tanner added 16 points with seven rebounds and three assists while Jalen Washington had 14 points and six boards.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Betting Preview
Over on the Wake Forest side, they opened up the year at 3-2 overall with wins over American, Morehead State and UMass Lowell. The Deacons otherwise lost to Michigan and Texas Tech. Since then it’s been a 6-1 run with a loss to Oklahoma among wins over Memphis, Campbell, Northeastern, West Virginia, Queens U and Longwood. That gives Wake Forest a 9-3 record in their first 12 games so far this year.
In the Longwood game Wednesday, the Deacons were in trouble on a 34-30 halftime deficit. Wake Forest hit a 41-34 run the rest of the way however, leading to a 71-68 win in the end. Vanderbilt vs Wake Forest Prediction
I’ll try Vanderbilt in this one. The Commodores need a better effort than they got versus Memphis, though. Vanderbilt shot a dismal 32.3 percent from the field and just 19.4 percent (6-of-31) from outside in that one, coughing up 18 turnovers and getting outscored in the paint 34-24 along the way. Still, it turned into a win and Vanderbilt’s record is still spotless. The Commodores have 77 or more points in every game so far, with 83 or more in 10 of 11 games.
As for Wake Forest, they had a scare of their own versus a pesky Longwood team this week. The Deacons shot 40.7 percent from the field in that one and 20.8 percent (5-of-24) from outside while getting outmuscled on the boards 37-30. Wake has 68 or more points in every game this season themselves, so they’re scoring pretty well overall also.
