UNC Greensboro Spartans Betting Preview
The Spartans have had a rough year so far, to put it mildly. UNC Greensboro lost their first five games, falling versus Kansas State, Elon, NC State, Austin Peay and Queens U in succession during that time. After a win over Youngstown State the Spartans fell to Delaware, Miami-OH and UNC Asheville in the next three. That would give the Spartans a 1-8 record across their first nine games of the season.
In the UNC Asheville matchup on Tuesday, UNC Greensboro held a three-point lead at the break. The Spartans were outscored 46-38 the rest of the way however, leading to an 82-77 loss in the end. Tops in scoring was Donald Whitehead with 13 points and five assists while Landon King had 12 points in 21 minutes. Valentino Pinedo added 11 points with five rebounds and a pair of assists in 32 minutes as well.
East Carolina Pirates Betting Preview
Over on the Pirates’ side, they haven’t had a lot of success this year either. ECU opened on a 2-1 stretch with a loss to Richmond in between wins over Georgia Southern and Elizabeth City State. Following losses to UNC Wilmington, Charleston Southern, Michigan State and St. Bonaventure in the next four outings, the Pirates finally got another win over Maryland Eastern Shore in their latest game. Over eight matchups so far that gives the Pirates a 3-5 overall record on the season.
Matched up against Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday, the Pirates came out of the first half with a 32-26 advantage. East Carolina closed on a 36-30 run from there and took the much-needed win 68-56. Jordan Riley was the top team scorer with 18 points and five assists in 37 minutes. Isaiah Mbeng chipped in 14 points and two boards, while Corey Caulker had 12 points with four rebounds and two assists.

UNC Greensboro vs East Carolina Prediction
I’ll lean toward East Carolina but I’m not touching this one. There’s not a lot to get excited about here if you’re not a fan of either team. That said, the Pirates got a pretty solid win over a sub-.500 MD Eastern Shore team in their last outing, thanks to 46.8 percent from the field and 8-of-17 (47.1 percent) from outside. East Carolina posted a 28-22 rebounding edge and had just nine turnovers along the way. The Pirates aren’t the greatest scoring team this year; they’ve been below 69 points in five straight games (a 1-4 run).
As for UNCG, they gave up 51.8 percent shooting from the field to UNC Asheville in their last outing but didn’t play too badly otherwise. The Spartans have made it past 70 points in consecutive games now, so if they can continue that trend UNC Greensboro should be competitive in this one.
