Over on the Wildcats’ side, they’re looking pretty good this year with just one blemish in the record books. Davidson opened with a win over DeSales, then took out Washington State in game two. Game three was another win over Charlotte, then came victories versus Bowling Green and Boston College in the next pair. After a loss to Utah State, Davidson came back with a win over North Carolina A&T. That gives the Wildcats a 6-1 run across their first seven games of the year.

In the North Carolina A&T game on Friday, the Wildcats were up 47-38 at the break. Davidson hit a 43-36 run the rest of the way in a 90-74 victory. Leading scorer Josh Scovens put up 21 points with eight rebounds and three assists, while Sam Brown added 13 points with two assists. Nick Coval chipped in with 11 points and two assists during the winning effort as well.

The Wildcats had scored fewer than 63 points in three of the previous four games, so the 90-point total was nice to see.

As for the Citadel, they posted another listless loss versus Presbyterian in their latest game, shooting just 30.4 percent from the field with a 33-19 rebounding deficit and a 32-12 disadvantage on points in the paint. The Citadel has been below 66 points in three straight games (all losses) with fewer than 59 points in two of those three. The Bulldogs are going to have to push hard to stick around in this one.
