Texas Southern vs Grand Canyon Prediction

I’ll stick with the Antelopes. Grand Canyon gets some key pieces back in addition to Henley this year, and things are looking up for a potential return to the NCAA Tournament. Grand Canyon has five straight 20-win seasons under their belt but the competition in the conference remains pretty tough. The Lopes will have to stay healthy and rely on their experience in order to navigate the schedule but if all goes well they’ll be dancing again.

As for Texas Southern, they’ve got a pretty wide-open range of possible outcomes for the 2026-27 season. The Tigers were in a state of flux for most of the summer and it’s anyone’s guess how this crop of players (not to mention the coaching staff) will perform on the floor. Needless to say, it’ll at least be interesting to watch.

Texas Southern Tigers Betting Preview

Last season the Tigers had something of a middling campaign. Texas Southern went just 12-18 overall but did better in the Southwestern Athletic Conference games with a 10-8 finish. The Tigers landed behind Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M and Southern in the standings, eventually falling to Alabama A&M in the SWAC Tournament.

Heading into 2026-27, the Tigers install new head coach Corey Lowery for his first year at the helm. Lowery comes in after spending four seasons as assistant head coach at Seton Hall. His hiring comes after something of a rough summer for Texas Southern, with lots of shuffling and uncertainty within the athletic department and the basketball program.
