Colorado vs San Diego State Prediction

I’ll probably just stick with Colorado here but you could make a case either way. The Buffaloes didn’t have too many issues with Abilene Christian in their opener this week, shooting a scorching 60 percent from the field and 53 percent (10-of-19) from outside. Colorado owned the boards 39-24 and held the Wildcats to just 39 percent shooting from the field. There wasn’t really a question of control at any point; Colorado led for 96 percent of game time. San Diego State will represent an uptick in talent on the other side but I think the Buffs will be okay if they play to their capabilities.

Speaking of San Diego State, they didn’t have too many issues against CSU Fullerton in their opener matchup either. The Aztecs shot 49 percent from the field and 82 percent (28-of-34) from the line in that one, bagging a 50-28 rebounding edge along the way. If there’s a minor gripe here it’s the 15 turnovers, but overall it was a solid opening-game victory. We should get a better idea of SDSU’s potential with this second game.

Colorado Buffaloes Betting Preview

Colorado managed to stay above the .500 mark last year, but just barely. The Buffs went 17-16 overall with a 7-11 result in a tough Big 12. That effort would leave Colorado ahead of only Arizona State, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Utah in the standings. The Buffaloes lost to Oklahoma State in the first game of the conference tourney, then fell to Oklahoma in the College Basketball Crown to end their campaign.

This year the Buffaloes have one game in the books so far. That one came on Monday versus Abilene Christian at CU Events Center in Boulder. Colorado rolled to a 94-59 victory thanks to a big second half in that one. Leading the charge was Jalin Holland with 18 points and six rebounds. Josiah Sanders added 14 points with four rebounds and Justin Neely came off the bench to contribute 14 points, five rebounds and three assists in 16 minutes of work during the victory effort for the Buffaloes.

San Diego State Aztecs Betting Preview

Over on the San Diego State side, they put up a pretty solid overall record last year, going 22-11 on the season. The Aztecs finished 14-6 in the Mountain West, putting the team behind only Utah State in the standings. San Diego State beat Colorado State and New Mexico in the Mountain West Tournament before a loss to Utah State in the championship game. They declined an invite to the NIT.

Matched up against Cal State Fullerton at Viejas Arena in San Diego during their opener game on Tuesday, the Aztecs rolled to a 102-78 victory in front of over 10,500 fans. Leading the charge in the win was Latrell Davis with 25 points, four boards and three assists.
