Richmond Spiders Betting Preview
It’s been a good run on the season so far for Richmond. Through five games, they’ve got five wins for an undefeated record. The Spiders kicked things off with a blowout win over Southern Virginia, then beat East Carolina in game two. Game three was a four-point win over William & Mary, followed by a blowout versus VMI. Over the weekend in their most recent appearance, Richmond took out Gardner-Webb to make it five straight.
Back on Saturday versus Gardner-Webb, Richmond jumped out to a dominant 62-30 edge by halftime. The Spiders closed on 40 more points and powered out the easy win 102-67. Tops on the team in scoring was AJ Lopez with 18 points and three rebounds, while Aiden Argabright had 15 points with four rebounds and four assists. Jaden Daughtry added 14 points with four rebounds in 17 minutes for the Spiders in the winning effort.
Furman Paladins Betting Preview
Over on the Furman side, they had some trouble over their first four games but they’ve since been better in the last couple. The Paladins opened on a 1-3 clip, beating only Columbia International alongside losses to High Point, Troy and Northern Iowa. Furman has won their last pair however, taking out Ohio Christian and Queens University. In total over six games, the Paladins have managed a .500 clip of 3-3 overall.
Matched up against Queens U on Sunday, the Paladins held a 13-point lead at the break. Furman was outscored by two the rest of the way but had more than enough of a cushion for the win 90-79. Alex Wilkins was tops on 23 points with seven assists and five boards, and Cooper Bowser had 17 points in 31 minutes. Charles Johnston doubled up on 14 points with 13 rebounds and four assists in the winning effort as well.

Richmond vs Furman prediction
I’ll lean toward Richmond. The Spiders didn’t have a whole lot of trouble versus a winless Gardner-Webb squad in their last game. Richmond hit 52.1 percent from the field with a 42-29 rebounding edge, 22 team assists and just nine turnovers. The real difference-maker was on points in the paint though, as Richmond had a 50-16 advantage there. It’s been a great scoring run so far for the Spiders. They’ve hit 84 or more points in all five games so far.
As for Furman, they played pretty well versus Queens U in their latest victory. The Paladins shot 53.3 percent from the field with a 33-22 rebounding edge and just four turnovers total. Furman has 169 combined points over their last pair, but they’ve also got a couple of scoring duds in the books this season. I don’t think they’ll keep much of a relative pace on Richmond.
