Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Betting Preview

Georgia Tech enters Wednesday’s matchup with a 5–3 win-loss record, including a perfect 5–0 mark at home. The Yellow Jackets have compiled wins over Maryland Eastern Shore, Bryant, Southeastern Louisiana, Georgia Southern, and West Georgia, while dropping games to Georgia, DePaul and the Drake Bulldogs. In the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets convincing 82-66 win over the West Georgia Wolves nine days ago, forward Kowacie Reeves Jr. amassed 18 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field and 4 of 7 from three-point range.

The Yellow Jackets average 71.5 points on 43.2 percent shooting from the field per game. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are allowing opponents 67.5 points on 38.1 percent shooting from the field (24th in nation) per game.

Senior forward Kowacie Reeves Jr. leads the Yellow Jackets with 12.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. Junior forward Baye Ndongo is averaging 11.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3 assists per contest. Freshman center Mouhamed Sylla further strengthens the frontcourt averaging 10.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.

Mississippi State Bulldogs Preview

The Mississippi State Bulldogs enter Wednesday’s contest with a 3–4 record. The Bulldogs have amassed wins over North Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, and New Orleans, while dropping games to Iowa State, Kansas State, New Mexico, and SMU. Their most recent outing was an 87–81 overtime loss to the SMU Mustangs five days ago.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs average 79.7 points on 44.1 percent shooting from the field per game. Defensively, the Bulldogs are allowing opponents 81.3 points per game, highlighting the Mississippi Bulldogs defensive struggles this season. Junior guard Josh Hubbard has been the team’s offensive star, averaging 23.3 points per game on 41.6% shooting from the field. Senior guard Jayden Epps is averaging 15 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1 steal a game.

Why the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Will Win

•            Home dominance. The Jackets are 5–0 at McCamish Pavilion this season.

•            Interior strength. Ndongo and Sylla combine for nearly 18 points and 17 rebounds per game.

•            Balanced defense. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are allowing opponents just 38.1 percent shooting from the field per game which ranks 24th in the nation.

Why the Mississippi State Bulldogs Will Win

•            Junior guard Josh Hubbard is averaging 23.3 points and 4.3 assists per game.

•            Guard depth. Epps and Jones Jr. provide secondary scoring options.

•            Experience. Multiple seniors anchor the rotation.

Georgia Tech vs. Mississippi State Prediction

This matchup is a clash of styles. Georgia Tech’s defensive discipline and frontcourt depth against Mississippi State’s guard‑heavy attack. The Bulldogs rely heavily on Hubbard’s scoring, but their defensive lapses have cost them in close games. Georgia Tech, meanwhile, has leaned on Reeves, Ndongo, and Sylla to control the interior and protect home court.

Expect Mississippi State to push tempo early, with Hubbard attacking off the dribble and Epps spacing the floor. Georgia Tech will counter by slowing possessions, feeding Ndongo and Sylla inside, and forcing the Bulldogs to defend in the half‑court. The Jackets ability to rebound and protect the rim should frustrate Mississippi State’s offense.

Georgia Tech’s home dominance and balanced frontcourt tilt the matchup. Mississippi State has the star power in Hubbard, but Georgia Tech’s depth and defense should prove decisive. Look for the Jackets to control pace and win the rebounding battle. With that said, I expect the Bulldogs to keep it close. I am backing the Mississippi State Bulldogs plus the 3.5 points in this one.
