Wright State Raiders Betting Preview

Over on the Wright State side, they started out on a 4-3 run across their first seven outings. The wins in that time were over Franklin, Radford, Ohio Wesleyan and Stetson. The losses otherwise were against Cal, Toledo and Kent State. Wright State is 1-3 in their last our with a win over Green Bay surrounded by losses to Butler, Youngstown State and Marshall in that time. That gives the Raiders a 5-6 overall run so far this year.

In the Marshall game over the weekend the Raiders entered the second half with a 39-32 edge. Wright State was outscored 44-35 the rest of the way and lost 76-74 in the end. Tops in scoring was Michael Cooper with 22 points, five boards and five assists. Kellen Pickett added 10 points and three rebounds in 16 minutes as the only other team player to reach double-figures in the losing effort.

I’ll lean toward Miami-OH. The RedHawks put up another nice effort against a struggling Eastern Kentucky team in their last outing, shooting 54.1 percent from the field with just nine turnovers. Miami-OH missed six of their nine free throws (33.3 percent) however, and got outmuscled on the boards 40-30 so it wasn’t perfect. Still, the RedHawks are looking good this year with 10 wins and 76 or more points scored in each.

As for Wright State, they shot a tepid 39.7 percent from the field in their latest loss to Marshall, giving up 49.1 percent shooting on the other side. The Raiders didn’t play terribly otherwise and were competitive against a decent team, though. Wright State has given up 69 or more points in each of their losses this season, so if Miami-OH gets going quickly the RedHawks will be in good shape.
